Okay, show me who's making threats. The vast majority of Republicans will still maintain law and order, by prosecuting any evidence of an actual crime. Leftists make threats all the time, and few Democrats ever call for their prosecution.

Lol Our first world election process is truly a joke!

I marvel that average everyday joes are handling ballots etc. My opinion, something of this magnitude that happens once every four years, requires Pentagon-esque measures that leave nothing to chance.

Putin uses a similar system - he wins every time!

That's the thing though. You need citizen oversight, which is how we've gotten all these sworn statements about election impropriety. Government is generally no good at anything, especially an election, where those already in power can guarantee they stay in power.

I was just listening to a fiction radio play ..
Kennedy Fisher is in America. She sees a building that she thinks is a church at first .. then identifies it as a masonic hall and comments 'pretty much every town in this part of America has one.'. Do Freemasons play a significant part in American politics? This is one possible reason why someone with less votes might believe they can win an election.

In reality there seems to be a lot of integrity on the US side of the pond.

I found the words of one American politician quite heart-warming - 'We have to accept that our man [Trump] lost.'. If I had to salute the flag every morning (do you guys actually do that?) I would be happy to salute that level of integrity.

So, I have a pretty wreath that I put up at this time of year and it has soft lighting operated by batteries. Hung the wreath earlier and it wouldn’t light up - come to find out, the batteries were corroded. I find it odd that batteries will corrode when not in use.   Huh

Yeah, it's always better to take batteries out of anything you won't be using for awhile.

I have a gas fireplace with a battery backup system. You’re supposed to remove the batteries after you light it because the heat affects the battery longevity but I always forget and have the same issue with corrosion. Just clean off the contact areas with vinegar and it should be fine. You can even use sandpaper on them if you have to. Works like a charm.

"The reason for leaks is that as batteries discharge — either through usage or gradual self-discharge — the chemistry of the cells changes and some hydrogen gas is generated. This out-gassing increases pressure in the battery. Eventually, the excess pressure either ruptures the insulating seals at the end of the battery, or the outer metal canister, or both."

Hardly a whimper from the US on yesterday’s Pearl Harbour attack anniversary. Was this intentional, as to not upset fragile psyches with reminders of war, internment camps and dropping the big one(s)?
