Democrat platform is so obviously a lie yet people think Trump is dishonest. You’re going to have to bear leftist bullshit for the next 4 yrs unless Dems think they’ll lose next election. Dems will sell their grandmothers to get elected.  Donald’s biggest mistake might be telling it like it is, exactly what the left didn’t want to hear.

As long as we hold the Senate (two January run-off races in Georgia...a state with election fraud), the left can only do so much. Granted, that includes policies that will weaken the US economy, including all those jobs that were employing historical numbers of minorities. Or maybe the left needs to be reminded just how bad it can get under Democrat rule. The crime rate in Democrat cities is already skyrocketing due to lack of prosecution, cashless bail, etc., and that's not even including all the rioting and looting. Then they'll be begging Republicans to bail them out again, like Giuliani being elected in NYC or Arnold in CA. The left has a notoriously short memory, which is probably an intentional feature of courting younger and/or woefully uninformed voters.

The Democrats have the legacy media to cover for their lies. Just look at how much MR believes them.

Luckily I live in a free state, and states are just shy of being their own countries in the US. That's how we get sanctuary states for illegal aliens and legalized marijuana...both federally illegal. So we can also have sanctuary states for free speech, gun rights, religious freedom, etc., if need be.

Trump exposing the left has forced them to quite lying about their agenda. Now everyone knows that CNN is just as biased as but more dishonest than MSNBC. Everyone knows many Democrats are admitted socialists and anti-police (law and order). Their temper tantrums won't be fun, but the more they do the more they expose themselves, only furthering the #WalkAway and #Blexit movements.

Thought question for the group: Care to share a time (no specifics necessary but a general story) when you left a job to pursue another because the former culture was “toxic?”

How long before you said...”enough!”

My mother (probably) said "Always find your next job before you leave your last one.". In reality I stayed in a toxic job for six months after deciding it was time to go before finding another much lower paid job that was great fun. Mrs C2 and I ran our own business for 28 years (until earlier this year) - by far the best option if possible.

Yes, that is a classic saying and probably for good reason, confused. lol I have friends who are constantly interviewing, even if they love their job. Thing is, I do love what I do, but the people....er...hmm. I'll see what the new year brings, and will remain hopeful.

Agree that owning a business is the best plan, if you can weather the first or second year of possibly just ''breaking even.''

Does Google Maps still have that street view of where it was at? I remember the place with model kits (planes, trains, etc) but not the name. (Geez, was it even via Google Maps? Cursed toxic mold working on memory...)

We did establish you that weren't that old codger who was either getting something out of the rear storage compartment of his car or placing a recently purchased item in it.

Then there was another store a distance away with lots of television sets inside.

I'm always good enough with my money that I can typically leave any job when I want, and have enough in savings (and/or doing freelance work) to cover finding the next. Yes, some jobs with good people can have a toxic corporate culture and some otherwise great jobs can have too many shitty coworkers. Otherwise great employers can often be too "nice" to quickly get rid of malcontents.

Commonly known a Berka. I have since embraced old codgeryness.

The company I spent most of my life working for is now one of the most reviled businesses in North America. My own wife never treated me as good as my employers. In all my years I only heard a couple people seriously hate the company but I would classify each as two who didn't like anything. Funny that they never actually left, it was too good of a company. Pension is working out nicely. Much racial diversity in management, many female executives and supervisory throughout the company. No one questioned it. I had tempting offers to go elsewhere but in every instance I turned them down.

If I had anything negative to say, and myself & others voiced this opinion at many a meeting, was the use of contractors versus hiring our own people. Turned out we who felt that way were right and it has cost this company dearly. Want things done right and staff loyalty, then train your own people for the job. Negative customer sentiment starts off with call centres and snowballs from there. Yet they continue to plug along and are still a good investment despite a lot of bad press, much of which is laden with falsehoods and misinformation. We have a very good retiree's club and have several get togethers during the year.

A mighty thunderstorm is passing through right now. I've always found it slightly strange, even in the south, to experience heavy rainstorms during the winter months. They're usually a summer occurrence, especially those accompanied by thunder and lightning. (like tonight)

Well the idiot about a quarter mile from me has done it again. During the pandemic he’s had signs on his lawn telling everyone that COVID is a hoax. Drove by there yesterday and there are two new signs, each one saying “Wearing masks kills brain cells”. If I was to believe him then next time I needed life saving surgery the surgeon better not be wearing one.
