Mother-of-one Heather Brough, 25, from Michigan, discovered three deep 'purple scratches' on her one-year-old baby's cheek after waking her from a nap.

The unexplained injuries on her daughter Lily, prompted Ms Brough and her fiance Josh Higgins, 30, who live at his mother's guesthouse, to check their baby camera.

And when reviewing the footage, they claim to have seen a male figure briskly walking past Lily's cot before disappearing into thin-air.

The pair are now actively looking for a new home to get away from the 'haunted' property - after paranormal investigators confirmed the house had 'paranormal activity'.

Mr Higgins' mother said the former owner of the home was an elderly lady who lay with a broken hip for 'a very long time' until she was found dead at the bottom of the stairs.
Her schizophrenic brother lived in the guesthouse until his death some years later.  

Ms Brough said: 'This is a spirit - I don't know what its intentions are but at this point it's becoming physically harmful. This has made us want to leave as soon as possible. As soon as possible we're out of here.

'Seeing Lily's face with the scratches was so bizarre and frightening. There was no explanation as to how that would have happened. It happened within 20 minutes.

'We wondered if she'd scratched herself, but when we put her hands up to the scratches it did not match up. I think it's possible this is the previous tenant,' she added.

The seemingly creepy sighting on their baby camera is far from the first for Ms Brough, who claims she experienced months of ghostly goings-on prior to the incident.

She claims to have heard screaming, stomping, and laughing, while home alone and was even woken from her sleep by the sound of a male shouting.

'There have been times where me and my fiance would wake up in the morning and I would hear an angry male voice - like someone had stubbed their toe,' she explained.

She is now actively looking for a new home to get away from the 'haunted' property - after paranormal investigators confirmed the house had 'paranormal activity'.

The terrified mother added: 'The first couple of times it happened I thought my fiance and his brother were running up and down the stairs for things - but when I opened the door no-one was there.

'I woke up to get ready for work one morning and it felt like someone was choking me. It shook me to the point where I decided to buy our camera.'

Kris, Heather's mother-in-law, lives in the main house with her husband Jim, and claims they have had paranormal investigators confirm there is ghostly activity in their property.  

She said: 'At first I thought, "she's a baby. Maybe she scratched herself?" But then the next day I looked at it and they were deep - like blue-purple scratches. They were pretty prominent and there's no way she could do that to herself.

'Ever since that incident happened, they don't leave the baby alone in any particular room. They put her to bed and make sure they are upstairs with her. They're together at all times, except when she's at daycare.'

At first glance the baby's motion is jerky and even stops near the end of the segment while the supposed ghost moves fluidly without hesitation, they even move the circle while the baby is motionless. Don't know if I've seen babies get up in the crib and just freeze.

I know I've seen something similar just recently. While I was visiting my daughter in BC last month, my grand daughter was congested. To help her sleep at night they use a room humidifier mister that creates a timed plume of water vapour. It even makes a little noise when it does this. Can anyone prove beyond all doubt that there is no misting device in the room the video was shot? The video figure (ghost) gradually falls to the floor just like a mist would. Since the machine would have to be on the far side side of the playpen/crib in order to be out of view, there is a possibility the mist from it has been mistaken for an entity or that's what they want us to think. Parents may not realize it or they're just too dumb to figure it out. Since there is doubt, this video goes into the trash. Good night.

I have made no such claim. All I said was that the possibility exists. There is a claim that the shadowy image in the video is a ghost. I have provided a doubt to that claim.  I suppose then that an infant cannot scratch its own face or that only a vapoury ghost can do such damage. Tell me you know that to be true. I say cut the kids fingernails for starters.

Here's another thing that stands out. For parents who say they're so concerned about the baby, I would hope the camera is in a position to see as much of the baby as possible. From Baby Gear: 

....you want to find a place in your baby’s room where you can put the camera at least 6 foot / 1.8 meters away from your child, while still being close enough to give you a clear view of your baby.

I didn't see the kid in the vid until s/he stood up and then only the head. For all anyone knows there could have been a rat/mouse/spider/scorpion in that pen with junior. My daughter's baby cam has a clear unobstructed view of the entire sleeping surface. The baby cam in this video is virtually useless in its current position. Unless you want to make mist look like a ghost. Lot of light in that room from all angles playing havoc with mist shadow patterns. My hearing has deteriorated over the years so I can't say for certain if a sound accompanied this video but are not most baby cams accompanied with a microphone. I can hear my grand daughter on her baby cam.

Nah, there's too much wrong with this vid to convince me there is a ghost present. Either deliberate fraud or two parents who won't make the dean's list. Also, ghostly shadow effect may have been accidentally discovered by parents or a friend and the decision was made then to make a spooky video.

MR, you’re a priceless commodity no forum can wish to lose. Your choice of the paranormal is one of the more contentious and controversial of topics, covering all generations. I don’t know if you actually believe it all but you present it as if you do. That’s important because by taking a stance, an opportunity arises for some of us to cast doubt on the subject.
