From what I can tell, most of the members can be persuasive and self-correcting when need be. Most of them are open minded and well informed. It seems like everyone is able to express their opposing opinions without using slander, except for you know who.
The only way to avoid it is to agree with him and then you’ll gain his stamp of approval. You’ll lose a big part of yourself, but hey, you’ll have gained the approval of some stranger on the internet.
What more could a girl ask for?

It's funny how often people feel they need to circle the wagons to ward off inconvenient questions. If they tell each other someone is bad or ill-intending enough, they can forget that their world view was ever significantly challenged. It's just quelling cognitive dissonance, and it must be significant to need the buy-in of others. Like people who seek to prove god exists, it's just as likely a general insecurity. A tenuous grasp on facts that makes any challenge appear to be more of an existential threat than it actually presents.
Sadly, such people may not even be aware of avoiding questions at all, their attentional bias is so string. So the intellectual dishonesty may very be beyond their control.
Coincidentally, attentional control may be a factor in happiness and flow.

Yeah, maybe that's it. Well, now that you know what your problem is maybe you could work on it.

I'm not the one who avoids direct questions, deary.
Look in a mirror.

The only questions that people avoid are your loaded ones. Talk about poisoning the well. That's all you do anymore.

Where, pray tell, have I asked loaded questions? O_o
You know, before having a simple question avoided so many times that my only recourse is to make assumptions from a lack of response.
If you won't answer simple questions, people can only make assumptions. If you don't like the assumptions, answer questions or correct them. You know, be an adult. Don't whine that people aren't treating you with kid gloves.

They’re all trick questions. They reduce your opponent’s choice of answers leading him or her to jeopardize their position. That’s entrapment, Syne, and none of us are under any obligation to answer all of your questions.

Well, you heard him. Answer his questions or else.

That's right, SS. Not immediately answering questions isn't an indication of anything, really. Sometimes, it could mean that I'm ignoring the question, but it often means, I just forgot to answer it, and might come back to it, later.
Your questions don't intimidate us, Syne. But, if you start name calling in hopes that will bring about a healthy exchange of conversation and ideas, then that's where your fault lies. You should take a page out of Yazata's book of internet etiquette. He always keeps it classy, even if he vehemently disagrees with someone.
