Real life paranormal experiences

The following are compelling and credible accounts by people of their encounters with ghosts. Hopefully they will open up your mind to what is possible in this reality. You don't have to explain these incidents. You have only to freely acknowledge they happen and that people around the world have experienced them and continue to experience them. Who knows, maybe one day you may have your own experience if you're lucky.

The last story is somewhat reminiscent of one I experienced circa the age of seven when sleeping one night. This shadowy blob that resembled a woman kept entering my bedroom to pin what looked like cards on the curtains of a window. Nothing on the curtains when morning came. Of course, years later I dismissed it as the animated pareidolic imagination of a kid's perception operating in a quasi-dark room with only slight moonlight filtering in.

Unless she was an American expatriate living in the UK and the old abode somehow escaped demolition or historic preservation status in the decades since... I take it that the woman who found the gas on in her apartment, with everything sealed-up, didn't happen to be residing in the place where Sylvia Plath stuck her head into the oven.

For some not quite clear influence on memory, the story about the ring escaping from the coffin called to mind all those quirky incidents continually happening in *Lost*.

I once stayed up with my brother all night with permission from my parents. As I was staring at the window screen in the living room I was suddenly jolted with terror at seeing the face of a victorian lady with her hair in a bun. After several minutes of frozen terror I noticed it was just an odd reflection in the screen of our chandelier. A good example of pareidolia occurring in childhood.

"British Prime Minister Winston Churchill loved to retire late, take a long, hot bath while drinking a Scotch, and smoke a cigar and relax. On this occasion, he climbed out of the bath and naked, but for his cigar, walked into the adjoining bedroom. He was startled to see Lincoln standing by the fireplace in the room, leaning on the mantle. Churchill, always quick on the uptake, simply took his cigar out of his mouth, tapped the ash off the end of his cigar and said "Good evening, Mr. President. You seem to have me at a disadvantage." Lincoln smiled softly, as if laughing and disappeared. Churchill smiled in embarrassment."---- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln's_ghost

Speaking of *Lost* elsewhere... Given the Smoke Monster's ability to mimic dead humans, it raises the remote possibility of a supposed legitimate apparition (eluding common explanations) not having anything to do with an actual remnant of the deceased. But instead being the shape-shifting of some plasma lifeform.[*]

Or more likely to have the ability: An alternate entity grounded in higher dimensions or even the "grey-goo" technology of the future or current ET probes. Of course, the question would then arise of what agenda could possibly be behind such hauntings. Might be nothing more than the arbitrary, prankster tendencies of an adolescent of the species, or simply the output of totally non-human interests and thought processes.

Also, should something as exotic as an atemporal being be involved in such masquerades, it would arguably be pointless altogether to speculate about the "why" of the behavior. The latter's causal relationship to this level of existence would be hierarchical (vertical) rather than the moment-by-moment, horizontal chain of causes and effects which creatures like ourselves experience (time-flow as just another quale). As Kant contended, influence from an eternal or timeless stratum would be simultaneous rather than moment-by-moment. Woven anonymously into the lawfulness and history of the phenomenal world. However, any direct manifestations of "spooks" would still seem to be unnatural interference. But since they're never actually confirmed to any skeptic's satisfaction or receive a reliable public validation, such "interference" remains anonymous behind conventional explanations, chains of coincidences, "waiting indefinitely to be explained", etc. A single individual or small group of individuals may be empirically satisfied by their direct encounters, but they never sway the mainstream knowledge establishment and thus conventional reality survives.

[*] In 2007, V. N. Tsytovich and colleagues proposed that lifelike behaviors could be exhibited by dust particles suspended in a plasma, under conditions that might exist in space. Computer models showed that, when the dust became charged, the particles could self-organize into microscopic helical structures capable of replicating themselves, interacting with other neighboring structures, and evolving into more stable forms. Similar forms of life were described in Fred Hoyle's classic novel *The Black Cloud*. --Galnet Wiki

These energy beings could draw on the strong emotional reactions of humans as in fear or grief, empowering themselves and manipulating resident humans towards their future feedings. Such might be the case for shadow beings which many associate with intense feelings of terror.

Another possiblity, and one commonly believed in the paranormal community, is that these sightings of the historically deceased, as in apparitions of the deceased in period dress, are residual holograms imprinted upon the telluric energy fields of that location, repeating events in the past in a sort of loop. So Lincoln isn't really still hanging around the White House but his past non-conscious image merely replays itself when conditions are right. The many sightings of civil war soldiers at the Gettysburg battlefield would be another example of such.
