Guns and the left

Most illegal attempts to buy guns online fail

"All 72 undercover attempts to buy guns through readily accessible internet sites failed, though agents did manage to make two buys out of sevens attempts through the more restrictive “dark web,” according to the recent report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

“Tests … demonstrated that private sellers GAO contacted on gun forums and other classified ads were unwilling to sell a firearm to an individual who appeared to be prohibited from possessing a firearm,” the report said."

One more "loophole" myth debunked.

Why Black People Own Guns
HuffPost spoke with 11 black gun owners to figure out what gun ownership means in a country determined to keep its black populace unarmed.

"HuffPost spoke to 11 black gun owners about their reasons for owning a firearm. Trump was a non-factor. Instead, they talked about wanting to protect themselves out of fear that no one else would. They talked about their anxieties during interactions with the police and their complex views on gun regulation. Where gun advocates often adduce the imaginary heroics of a hypothetical active-shooter scenario to their arguments, the black gun owners we talked to referred to specific incidents, specific provocations — as if redlined, too, out of the fantasyland of American gun culture. And most of them returned to a sentiment as old as the nation itself: that owning firearms is a rebellion against a system bent on keeping them out of the hands of black folks."

So when anyone else says the Second Amendment exists to protect us from our government, the left scoffs, except for blacks...who are threatened by the government (police)...but the left wants more restrictions, especially in cities where most blacks live.

The majority of blacks living in Democrat-run cities with stricter gun control is likely a factor.

The majority of blacks ARE democrats. Why do you speak of them as if they aren't voters?

Who said they weren't?
Are you saying they don't want guns to protect themselves?
Do they vote for Democrats to ensure strict gun control, or are they just so loyal that most their issues are actually ignored?

They're like all democrats. They favor gun control, especially in urban areas where gun violence runs rampant.

"Owners of gun ranges say first-time black gun buyers are flocking in, filling open seats in gun-safety and concealed-carry classes, and diversifying the ranks of enthusiasts, who tend to be older white males.
...
Jones said that since the election he’s seen about a three- or four-fold increase in African-Americans coming to his shop to buy firearms. Most of them are black women, he said, followed by senior citizens, younger people and college students. Many of them have also joined black gun clubs and the African-American gun association. Jones said that on a good day his chapter of the NAAGA can get as many as five to 10 inquiries about joining.
...
With little concern among gun owners that Republicans will try to grab their guns, arms sales have dropped precipitously among the general population.

Except among minorities, according to gun stores that serve them. In Austin, Texas, Michael Cargill, owner of Central Texas Gun Works, said that his store has been inundated with calls. Sometimes they come 15 or 20 in a row, from all across the state and country, from people looking to purchase firearms for the first time. The majority, he said, are blacks and members of the LGBTQ community who’ve found him through the National African-American Gun Association’s website and are eager to do business with a black-owned gun store." - https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/age-...rs-n758211

Others have bought into the lies that guns laws will stop criminals, who by definition don't abide by the law. They also tend to be unaware that many of the "added restrictions" Democrats demand have existed for decades, and that handguns overwhelmingly account for most gun violence.

The "dark web" exists for criminal activity. So yes, seasoned criminals are likely to have a nose for police stings.

If you feel the need to impugn the source, you've already failed. You do know that the Washington Post leans left and Mother Jones is radical left, don't you? O_o

"While blacks are significantly more likely than whites to be gun homicide victims, blacks are only about half as likely as whites to have a firearm in their home (41% vs. 19%)."---http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/201...ouseholds/

Wow..he can tell people on the phone are black or LGBT just by talking to them?

Probably saying they found him through the National African-American Gun Association’s website, or mentioning looking for a black-owned gun store, has something to do with that.
