Why ghosts make noise

"Ghosts do some pretty bizarre things to get our attention. As someone who has interacted with ghosts since I was a child, I’ve seen and heard some pretty amazing things.

And they continue to happen…

Like the other night when I woke up to the sound of pacing in my hallway. There were two different sets of footsteps that night. One had a heavier step and a different pace from the other set. They seemed to be worried about something and they paced for hours.

After a while I was able to block out the noise and I went back to sleep. I realize that sounds like an unusual response, but unexplained noises happen so often in my life I just flow with it most of the time. Too, ghosts are really very egocentric. To them the only problems that exist are theirs.

They crave attention. Which is why they make the noises they do. They go through their days and nights mostly being around people who can’t see or hear them. So they do what they can to get noticed. Being noticed often becomes a life purpose for many ghosts since they feed off of that attention.

I received an email recently from a reader who is regularly visited by spirits and we began discussing the creative ways in which ghosts and other spirits work to get our attention. Flashing lights, computer and other electrical disturbances are definite favorites.

That night I woke up at 3 a.m. and went into the bathroom, accidentally dropping something and making a loud noise. “Shhhh..” a bodiless voice said from inside the bathroom. It startled me but I knew she was just enjoying my attention.

She left quickly, so, off I went back to bed. I knew she’d be back. The next day I was downstairs with the kids when suddenly the upstairs toilet flushed. Since no one was upstairs at the time, we all thought this was a little suspicious.

About 15 minutes later it happened again. So, we all went upstairs for a while, and there was no flushing. Back we went downstairs, and again, more flushing!

I left the house for a little while and when I came back my husband said the pattern had continued. As long as someone was upstairs the toilet was quiet. But whenever we all went downstairs, the flushing continued.

Later that night I went up to my bathroom and found the ghostly gal who was working so hard to get our attention. Her name was Sandy and she told me she was lonely and bored. She felt angry and resentful over hard times and betrayals from her life as well as a tragic death. Her energy was a little threatening and distrusting. So, rather than running the risk of losing her again, I quickly turned the conversation to going home. She was ready and with my help, went to the Other Side easily.

Usually people think that ghosts haunt or make noise to scare or intimidate. Sometimes that’s the case, but more often than not they make noise to get attention. Ghosts are stuck and unhappy and make noise for attention and help."----http://www.crowleyhallghosts.com/ghost-a...noise.html

When my toilet started flushing itself I simply replaced the flapper in the reservoir. Problem solved.

Statement is kind of oxymoronic but if you read the whole story I think it's obvious the woman has issues.

Demons and possibly ghosts are real but they do not attempt to get our attention unless they somehow are able to interact or intercept with our plane of existence. They exist in an isolated world. I have only witnessed the unmistakable physical manifestation of a demon but once on a special day in my life. It tried to twist my neck backwards before it was forced to shout "YES" from within my subconscious and then left never to be seen or heard from again. Now, I tried to relegate it to some sort of psychological explanation but given my other experiences such a psychological explanation fails. Not to mention psychology is an extremely soft science that does not cover as much ground as say Quantum Physics.

It can be explained by my experiences as a subject of attempted possession by an evil that exists over the internet. Yazata knows. So does most of sciforums.

Ever heard of the prophecy of the Great Genius and the Anti-christ? I am not a Great Genius, but strangely I am very familiar with the anti-christ as I used to fall into the wrong things over the internet many years ago in my early 20s. He is like Descartes Evil Demon. He creates a world of deception over the internet and uses trickery and deceit to lure the average mind into a world of not only a proof of exclusive atheism, but evil. The evil is surreptitious and exists as an incredibly complicated web of lies that appears logical on the surface. It required my full concentration and proof for the existence of God and CTMU to defeat such a world of deception. An ordinary genius would fall into it. It requires rule breaking genius to pierce the veil.

I'd say you're doing a good job with it. My guard is up so unfortunately, as much as I may have enjoyed the experience, there's nothing more I can say.

It takes considerable force to lift that flapper to flush a toilet. I'd say you had an incontinent ghost. Smile

Poor bugger probably shit itself to death. Anyway force is not required. So.......

Now you've gone and made me look it up. There's more than one reason for toilets to flush themselves. The 'shhh' noise is probably related to it also.

I'm aware of the leakage that can occur from your tank due to a displaced or warped flapper. That's not a flush by any means. It is the sound of the floater dropping eventually enough to activate the refiller. I've had that problem many times but never a self-flushing toilet.

One must be wary of the clicks and pops of a thermally contracting house. Many times these can be quite alarming, especially late at night. Sometimes the clicks can occur in pictures, cabinets, closet doors, TV sets, front doors, ceilings, etc. They can even be periodic, occurring in 4 or 5 second intervals. This is typical of an activated heater. Also be wary of a printer fumbling around for no reason. These are certaintly not the pranks of some otherworldly attention slut. When that happens, you will know it. 3 loud raps on your wall at 3 AM? Time for a sage smudging! 9 raps on your ceiling in 3 sets? You've got alien greys a'coming!

Simple experiment.....I just did it and the toilet flushed itself. Just to prove I wasn't out of my mind I tried it again and wouldn't you know, it flushed again. All I did was take the top off the reservoir, lifted up on the bar from the handle just enough to let water from the tank pass by the flapper, simulating a warped or damaged flapper.  Took all of 30 seconds each time for it to flush by itself. Maybe no two toilets are alike with respect to flushing, I don't know but I'm convinced mine does.

If I were a believer in ghosts then I would be more worried why a ghost would choose a toilet to get attention. If it can flush a toilet then why can't it leave a handwritten note? Next time you have ghosts in the commode just leave a pencil and a writing pad with a simple instruction to the spook to stop flushing and leave a note instead.

Right. You lifted the bar to make it flush. That's not self-flushing. A ghost will turn lights on, mess with electronics, turn on faucets, and close doors because it is basically bored out of its wits. Doesn't speak well for the afterlife imo.
