Trump's gov inexperience and verbal recklessness is probably in character with the history of incidents / situations which prompt changes in the clock. (Not to mention deeply pushing any buttons that members of "The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists's Science and Security Board" might sport politically.)
But OTOH, his relationship with Putin might ease the tension on at least that particular, classic front. But one has to very much wonder if Putin is privately thinking that this "guy is a fool" much as Stalin covertly did after talking with Harry Truman after the Potsdam Conference. (
EDIT: Well, that might depend upon whether the historical POV is from the archived Soviet side in regard to accounts from Stalin's staff and aides or from the "going by appearances" on the American side. See [*] at bottom.)
Ironic that the influence of the Cuban Missile Crisis (of all events) never got the chance to register on the clock.

"Stalin had the greatest personal respect for Roosevelt – and for the superpower that he represented. When FDR died suddenly in April 1945 Stalin was genuinely shocked and he mourned the loss of a great statesman." http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/36194
