Recently ''discovered'' this artist, although it would be fairer to say that new music has been discovering me, lately...not the other way around. Usually, recommendations from various playlists, or background music at a party, or whatever...it's fun when you stumble upon a catchy song by an artist who up until recently, you had no idea existed.
Hailing from Norway, Linda Roan is a songwriter who, after relocating to the UK in 2007, began writing music with composer Andy Powell.
Her influences include everything from pop to soul to hip hop, but her musical inspiration is deeply rooted in country music. Lyrically, she loves to tell great stories by writing imagery that appeals to the listener’s senses – always trying to find new ways to describe those all too familiar feelings – all underpinned by strong hooks.
I was going to post something else and just mention the Squirrel Nut Zippers in passing. Thanks to CC - I'm starting to wonder where I've been for the last thirty years.
I've long time had this thing - Love is a smile - can't prove it - could well be wrong but there it is.
Anyway, the Squirrel Nut Zippers kind of got my smile by a mile.
I've been listening to this ''melancholy'' piano music that I've recently discovered, which has been nice in the background when I'm working or reading...it's calming in its own way.
