Seems most of the antisemitic left and horseshoe right are parroting KGB propaganda.
The KGB played a central role in promoting the narrative that Jews in Israel were foreign occupiers, colonialists, and Nazis, beginning in the 1960s and intensifying after the 1967 Six-Day War. This campaign, known as Operation SIG ("Zionist Governments"), was designed to delegitimize Israel, alienate it from the international community, and incite hatred across the Arab and Islamic world.
The KGB's Strategy and Tactics (Operation SIG)
"Zionism is Racism/Nazism": The KGB sought to turn the international community against Israel by equating Zionism with racism and Fascism. This included producing propaganda equating the Star of David with a swastika.
Fabricating History: The Soviet bloc produced and distributed literature aimed at convincing the world that Israel was a "colonial" entity established by "Western Imperialism" rather than a legitimate national liberation movement.
Funding Terrorist Proxies: The KGB supported and funded Palestinian nationalist movements and leaders, such as Yasser Arafat, training them in propaganda and helping to craft a "Palestinian" identity specifically designed to fight against the concept of a Jewish homeland.
Spreading the "Protocols": The KGB distributed Arabic translations of the Tsarist-era forged pamphlet, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, to promote conspiracy theories about Jewish world control.
Influencing the UN: The KGB was instrumental in the 1975 UN resolution declaring "Zionism is a form of racism," a milestone in their global disinformation campaign.
"Zionology" and Internal Propaganda
Internally, the USSR rebranded its traditional antisemitism under the guise of "anti-Zionism" or "Zionology," which the KGB used to portray Jews as dangerous "Zionist agents" cooperating with Nazis.
1967 War Context: Following the 1967 Six-Day War, where Soviet-backed Arab militaries were defeated, the KGB escalated its efforts to portray Jews as invaders of "Arab lands," despite the historical, indigenous presence of Jews in the region.
Key Personnel: KGB leader Yuri Andropov personally oversaw the "apartheid" narrative, aimed at framing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a struggle against a racist oppressor.
These Soviet-era propaganda operations are widely cited as having had long-term success in shaping modern perceptions of Israel in academic, political, and media circles.

For all their talk against Russia, they are voluntarily pushing decades-old Russian propaganda.

Funny, alot of the Immigrants came from Russia during the Russian Revolt (1917). If anything the KGB was likely targetting defectors.

It's strange because the obsession over postcolonialism and decolonization is a Neo-Marxist thing rather than the classic kind the USSR adhered to. Post-Soviet studies and concern over its own brand of imperialism didn't emerge until after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Soviet anti-Zionism: Soviet anti-Zionism was an anti-Zionist and pro-Arab doctrine promulgated in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. While the Soviet Union initially pursued a pro-Zionist policy after World War II due to its perception that the Jewish state would be socialist and pro-Soviet, its outlook on the Arab-Israeli conflict changed as Israel began to develop a close relationship with the United States and aligned itself with the Western Bloc.
So that's when the socialist Jews in NYC and elsewhere got instruction from the USSR to switch to opposing Israel rather than supporting it. They were doing that long before they adopted the later New Left and Frankfurt School stuff that's informally categorized under "Woke" today -- reformulating their rhetoric in the context of the latter.

Russian Jewish immigrants played a pivotal role in the demographic and structural development of Mandatory Palestine, largely driven by fleeing persecution during various Russian revolts and political upheavals between 1881 and the 1920s. These waves of immigration, known as Aliyot, established the foundation for the Jewish Yishuv (community) in the region.
KGB propaganda regarding Israel as an "occupier" was a multi-layered campaign that targeted both internal Soviet populations (to discourage emigration) and the international community (to undermine the U.S.-Israel alliance).
While the "occupier" and "imperialist" labels were designed to delegitimize Israel globally, they served a specific, practical function within the Soviet Union: discouraging Russian Jews from seeing Israel as a viable homeland.

As is often the case, two things can be true at the same time.
And it doesn't really matter who the KGB propaganda was targeting. The effect was to spread lies that antisemites are still spreading today.
