OTOH, law enforcement and the FBI itself can also pay informants and squealers. Though there are multiple methods for prodding a member of an organization or movement into becoming a CI.

VIDEO EXCERPTS: I want to dive deep into the Southern Poverty Law Center scandal right now...

[...] It's almost impossible to describe how often the media would take the SPLC's hate designations over many decades and then put them up on the screen or in their copy and act as though this was not a controversial, not an ideologically charged, not a partisan source. It was really really despicable for many years.

[...] Allegations from conservatives against the Southern Poverty Law Center ... were that they were engaged in a really despicable conflation of traditional values with bigotry. ... all of this was enough to get people slapped with a hate designation that would then ... be laundered by the media because all of these journalists were inclined to agree with he SPLC that the toothless rubes in America's Heartland were actually racist and hateful.

Who could forget the Taylor Swift "You Need to Calm Down" music video where she pans over to the protesters against I guess the LGBT community and they're all depicted as like toothless hillbillies uh with overalls on at the time. This another story I wrote for the Federalists, it was actually the black community that the had the highest level of opposition to gay marriage.

But again, this is the point that coastal elites in their bubbles of affluence ... as Charles Murray documented in Coming Apart. They are just inclined to believe because they don't spend enough time with people outside of their bubbles, whether that is in their own cities, people of less affluence or in "flyover country".

They were inclined to believe that the SPLC was absolutely telling the truth that people opposing the full slate of cultural progressivism are necessarily bigoted and hateful. So you would often see the SPLC cited as a credible source.

When I say often, I mean it was like a reflex and to some extent still is like a reflex. Whenever you're covering one group or the other, it's just: Boom! SPLC is says this is a hate group, even if it's mainstream... (MORE - details)

The SPLC is not law enforcement. Funding criminals without the ability to arrest them is just abetting crime. Usually law enforcement informants get a deal, for either immunity or lighter sentencing. Aside from things like Obama's Fast and Furious Operation, they usually don't fund or supply criminal activity.

While the indictment focuses on fraud, money laundering, and misrepresentations to donors, the allegation that funds were used to facilitate crimes would technically fall under secondary criminal liability, which covers "aiding, abetting, counseling, commanding, inducing or procuring" an offense.

RUBIN REPORT
https://youtu.be/lMhkxxmM4Ss

VIDEO EXCERPT: Here is Attorney General Todd Blanch announcing that a federal grand jury has indicted the SPLC on 11 counts and they've done an awful lot of bad stuff.

Today, a few minutes ago, in the Middle District of Alabama, a grand jury returned an 11-count indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center with six counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit money. According to the charges in the indictment, the SPLC is a nonprofit entity that purports to fight white supremacy and racial hatred by reporting on extremist groups and conducting research to inform law enforcement groups with the goal of dismantling these groups.

As the indictment describes, the SPLC was not dismantling these groups. It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose by paying sources to stoke racial hatred. Did you catch that?

People thought the the general idea behind the SPLC is that they must be going after bad guys, right? So people thought they're finding racist people and they're getting them in trouble or they're exposing them or trying to deplatform them or whatever.

Now, of course, as they were doing that, they were finding anyone that disagreed with any progressive orthodoxy and they would try to destroy their lives and careers and everything else.

But what they really were doing, this is so insane, was funding the very groups they purported to be going after. They're showing you now is that the Southern Poverty Law Center was paying white supremacy groups and KKK things and everything else.

They were paying the money to gin up the hate. They paid one over a million dollars to the National Alliance affiliate. They played they paid Aryan Nations. They paid them over 300,000. Unite the Right. Remember them? They paid them over 270K. Former National Alliance chairman over 140K. Former KKK members got 73,000. Why can't we get a dime on any of this?

They were falsely accusing [ordinary] people of racism and trying to destroy businesses and people. It is also that they were funding the very groups they were claiming to destroy. They artificially made it seem like these groups had influence.
