Like many historic places where migratory cultures merged, the Isles have become a melting pot of innovation. I'm amazed by the number of constant, daily violent attacks appearing in UK news, and their resulting injuries and murders. It's like a trip back in time to the medieval era, and a reminder that humans successfully found ways to slaughter each other for thousands of years, before the late advent of guns.

Police are seeking a man who they have said “should not be approached” after a woman was stabbed in an early-hours attack. Cops are appealing for help tracking down 21-year-old Deara Sadiq in connection with the incident which took place in Coventry in the early hours of this morning.
A woman in her 20s was found with multiple stab injuries and rushed to the hospital where she remains in a serious condition this evening, Coventry Live reports. Detectives named 21-year-old Deara Sadiq as their prime suspect and warned he should not be approached. Anyone who spots him should call 999.
West Midlands Police said: “We are appealing for help to trace this man after a woman has been seriously injured following a stabbing in Coventry today (February 18). We were called to an address in Swanswell Street at just before 4.30am. A woman in her 20s was discovered with multiple stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital where she remains in a serious condition. Following enquiries, we have established Deara Sadiq as our prime suspect. Sadiq is from the Coventry area, and we would ask anyone with information to contact us, rather than approach him.
