Yeah, I can cherry-pick glowing reviews of the same movie.

Is there anything you ever post that DOESN'T serve your anti-liberal political agenda? Monomaniacal much?

Disclosure Day reviews seem to be all over the map - ranging from great movie to terrible movie.

I'm guessing that's partly because the movie seem to concentrate more on conspiracies to prevent disclosure than on some triumphant alien revelation like in Close Encounters. Some people are calling Disclosure Day boring, but that might be because it isn't one of those Transformer-style special effects extravaganzas, with everything blowing up.

I still want to see it, but perhaps not as urgently as before.

As far as I can tell, all the corporate legacy media loves it. That's a stamp of approval from the same people who fund and push slop.

But sure, discount any naysayers with a genetic fallacy... if it make you feel better about loving slop. Oink, oink.

In the trailer... The crop circles magically forming and the animal messengers (deer in the girl's bedroom, the cardinal bird triggering Blunt's transformation into an oracle or whatever) pretty much told me this film was a wait till it's on streaming services that one is already subscribed to. Looks like it exhausts every tired UFO convention in the lore (hopefully excluding foil hats), with a heavy gasoline dousing of bloated, pretentious reverence.

At age 79, Spielberg probably is past his prime. Hand it over to 20-year-old Kane Parsons (I'd rather have seen what he would have done with the idea of DD).

I wish they had involved the real live aliens or whoever more and explored the possibilities of why they are here. Instead it's just about the government cover-up and the rather formulaic plot of evil villains trying to find and kill the boat-rockers. The ending was nice, which I shant spoil. Just see it for yourself. Hopefully it will start a whole new rash of other films (A24?) about who they are and what they are and what they want. The best film I've seen dealing with that is "Midnight Special", which was much more about the aliens as "ultraterrestrials" and a gifted child and stars an array of really good actors, which I really loved:

Well, well. I actually let family talk me into going along with them to see it. I still don't understand why Emily Blunt got praised for it being the best role of career. Because she did good job of sounding and acting like an American weather girl? Sans the latter occupation, she did just as well as in Sicario and other films.
