Why is MAGA still angry?

This is a great little rant by news commentator Joy Reid that asks some pretty pertinent questions about the current political atmosphere. Why indeed? Joy Reid btw was fired from MSNBC probably for speaking her mind. That's the kind of world we are living in now. Nobody has the balls to tell it like it is.

Charlie Kirk, Iryna Zarutska, interstate trafficked mifepristone, unending lies about fascist kings, lies about "illegally" enforcing existing law, etc..
It's not merely anger. It's indignation. And it's called decades overdue comeuppance.

We aren't inviting you to our table, haters. Get used to it. You may run the govt, but we still run the culture and the historical narrative. And even after your 3 years are up and Trump's 15 minutes are over with, we will still remember.

The hate started on the left, and has only gotten worse over decades. So I'm sure it will only continue to get worse, especially if you have to suffer 8 years of Vance. But that kind of lying and vitriol is expected of spoiled children. Look at them now, holding their breath and shutting down the government because they don't like what was passed by a majority in Congress, hypocritically contradicting what they've said for years about shutdowns and the necessity to pass clean CR bills that continue current funding.

But don't you worry your little head. The adults have realized the threat unruly children can pose. We have the means to take care of any threat that arises.

I don't think that MAGA is angry right now. We are rather happy.

Most of the anger that I see is coming from the left. They are the ones screaming and rioting in the streets. They are the ones talking up violence, who seemingly think that insults, name-calling and TDS can substitute for a coherent political program that voters actually want.

I think that for years the left were confident in their belief that civilization was inexorably and inevitably moving in the direction they desired.

But now suddenly things seem headed in a very different direction, not just in the US but worldwide: In Britain (Farage and Reform), Germany (the AfD), France (the National Rally), Italy's Giorgia Meloni, Hungary's Orban, in Poland, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Javier Melei in Argentina, Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, Vox in Spain, in Japan, in India...

And here in the US polls show that only about 25% of the population consider the establishment media to be even "somewhat" trustworthy. So much for cultural hegemony...

We are seeing a dramatic worldwide cultural change, and it scares the left... and that angers them...

All autocracies or strong man regimes crumble eventually from within, having no more enemies or scapegoats to be strong against. Caesar, Napolean, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler. They all collapsed over time. Trump and his hypothetical heir will suffer the same fate. Democracies, particularly in this age of universal information access, do not long suffer the iron rule of despots.

The pendulum does always swing the other way eventually.
"Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times." - G. Michael Hopf

Weak leftists are always looking to make times hard again... destroying the economy and driving up debt, letting criminals free, letting border human and drug traffickers run amok, etc.. At least actual hard times will finally justify their incessant whining.

The intelligentsia was always driving the proletariat to be engaged or agitated about something. Now that the latter has "fully" defected to the GOP populism of the last decade, I guess Trump and social media punditry keep that momentum going (albeit directing it in a different political direction). But whether that "engagement" is construed as "anger" or "enthusiasm" is up to the interpreter, I guess.

In contrast, the activist spirit of the New Left and its counterculture of the baby boomer era ironically settled in (over the ensuing decades) with the upper-stratum bourgeoisie, the progressive wealthy (especially the celebrity set and coastal corporate elite), and academia.

So both sides finally have an overall capacity to be enduringly "angry", galvanized, attentive, or whatever, now.

And Dems arguably still have a diminished poor slash working class if one construes their marginalized population groups base as fulfilling the victimhood role of the original proles. (Again, the perverse switcheroo of the latter now being the MAGA devil or pejorative source of all bigotry.)

MAGA malcontents are so used to being against things that they have forgotten how to be for anything. 90% of the time they are complaining, defining themselves entirely as being opposed to whatever democrats want. Like obsessively griping backseat drivers, they have suddenly been put into this nation's driver's seat and have no clue what to do. They never anticipated actually being in charge. Which is the comedy of errors we and the whole world are all watching now.

You're projecting. It's Dems that currently can't name their leader nor define what they're for. They're just anti anything Trump.
Republicans are trying to boost the economy and improve everyone's standard of living, keep illegal aliens from taking jobs and endangering Americans, fight crime where governors will allow, take on cartels' drug and human trafficking, finding the unaccompanied children migrants that Biden lost, shrink government and its ever-escalating debt and fraud, etc..

But keep on coping.
