- VIDEO EXCERPTS - Here's Gavin Newsom saying: "Come after me, arrest me. Let's just get it over with, tough guy."
[...] My heart goes out to these families, and the kids. They're here in the country illegally, they're trying to earn a living. [...] But they chose to come here illegally, and chose to bring their kids or to have kids while they're here. So what should Democrats be doing?
The right thing for Democrats to do is to protest this at the ballot box. Which we just tried to do [last year], and we lost. I think the problem for the party is that these blue districts take pride in not cooperating. The problem is the party is so consumed with Trump, and so consumed with looking tough, and standing up -- in like a fight, but this is not their place to have that fight.
If you want to say: "Look, we're going to tear the economy apart if we try to deport 20 million people -- most of whom are just community members, and they run businesses or whatever." Then that's okay. But like, we just tried that a little bit ago, and we lost.
The government is actually executing the law, now. [...] And we still keep saying no, we're just not going to cooperate.
That's absolutely right. You guys don't have a real answer.
[...] The far left, which is where the base is, won't allow a reasonable discussion of this. Because if you remember five to eight years ago, we're talking about a deal that would allow people who were in DACA, etc, to get something. That debate has sailed, it's not even close to being able to occur again.
But three things on Gavin Newsom.
One: That guy does indignant better than anyone else.
Two: He's 100% running for president.
And three: Gavin Newsom couldn't spend 20 minutes at an outdoor Cub Scout jamboree. So he probably can't handle five minutes in the most minimum security prison. Arrest him and see how he does.
Well, if Gavin Newsom is likely to run for president or wants to, he's had two big moments in his state this calendar year. The wildfires and now this. I don't think he's come across very well in either.
Like, if I'm looking for leadership... In the wildfires, he looked like a deer in headlights. He didn't have answers, he was running from reporters, he was getting accosted by his own citizens: "What the heck's going on?"
And now he's digging in, to basically protect people who are here illegally, in a major city in his state. They're not waving American flags, but waving Mexican flags. Attacking US property, federal officials, police cars -- lighting them on fire, blocking highways. And that's what you're trying to protect.
The political optics of this are horrific. It says to the rest of the country that these are your values. This is what Newsom is okay with...
“The optics of this are horrific”: Violent LA protestors waving Mexican flags, attacking Feds ... https://youtu.be/jXhFgABUUt4
Trump knows he has to periodically put on a shit show for his racist voter base. And newsclips of brown people being dragged by ICE agents from their jobs and homes and progressive protesters being tackled by Marines is just the ticket. He can kill two birds with one stone. The only thing lacking this time is him posing with a big Bible next to his disgusting fake grin.
Yep, all peaceful protests. Nothing to do with illegal aliens (criminals) and their allies obstructing the enforcement of decades-old laws and flying foreign flags while attacking city, state, and federal law enforcement, setting fires, burning cars (both civilian and law enforcement), vandalizing the city, looting stores, etc..
Seems Newscum and Bass are orchestrating the shit show. Will make great ads when Newscum runs for president.
Democrats have cornered themselves on the losing side of every 80-20 issue. If they try to moderate at this point, the they will be eaten by the mobs they've enabled.
That's a question for the democrats to answer for themselves. They're in deep shit right now. They've been going on for months about how their brand is toxic and about how they need to adopt a different strategy. Well, these illegal alien riots are doing their 'moderate' rebranding no good at all.
They just remind voters how the democrats opened up the borders and invited 10 million of these illegals in. And the feckless pro-rioter response of the California state and LA city governments rubs voters' noses in what the democratic party's core values really are and what they truly want for the country as a whole.
Democrats have to decide whether they want to please American voters in order to win national elections or whether they want to please the radical activists who they personally favor. Governor Newsom and mayor Bass seem to have made their choice.
Quote:But three things on Gavin Newsom.

I'll add my own no. 3.
Three: He's always been the consummate political chameleon, willing to change his color to suit his surroundings.
His problem is that the things that he's most indignant about are wildly out of tune with the views of most of the American people. He tried to begin crafting a 'new Gavin' a few weeks ago when he told an interviewer that biological males in women's sports wasn't fair (an 80% issue with the voters) and then got crucified for saying it by the "gender" militants in his own radical base.
Well, these illegal alien riots have effectively killed any chance that Gavin Newsom ever had to refashion himself as a reasonable pragmatic moderate for the 2028 presidential election. All that JD Vance needs to do in 2028 is make an ad with one of the photos of a guy waving a Mexican flag in front of burning cars. It will be as iconic for Gavin as the Butler PA "fight, fight, fight" photo was for Trump: A single photo summing up the candidate.

Exactly. The smoke wasn't just burning cars. It was Gavin Newsom's political career going up in flames.
Which is probably why they aren't arresting him. He's doing more than enough damage to his own party all by himself. If they arrested him, they would just create an anti-Trump martyr for the leaderless left to rally around.

Interesting take on the LA riots by a retired Army colonel who lives in LA. He's looking at it like a military man, from kind of a CIA's eye perspective, from the point of view of the people whose business is overthrowing foreign governments. As manufactured political theater designed to inflluence public opinion. And I'm inclined to agree with him.
Quote:Let’s understand what’s going on in Los Angeles because most people don’t. This is not a battle of cops versus rioters; it is a battle between narratives...
Remember, this is not a kinetic operation. A kinetic operation achieves its goal by the violence itself. Kinetic operations destroy enemy personnel, reduce enemy combat power, or conquer territory through physical destruction. But this is an information operation. It accomplishes its mission by influencing the population. The violence itself is not an end, but a means; the goal is to compel people to submit by convincing them to accept the narrative.
And the narrative here is that Los Angeles is in complete chaos as a result of Donald Trump attempting to enforce federal law, so to stop the violence, Donald Trump must be compelled to cease enforcing federal law....
Remember, it’s an information operation. None of what you see on the regime media is real. Oh, they are burning a few cars and screaming and yelling and running around waving flags of garbage countries, but what does any of that actually do? Nothing. They can’t make anyone do anything. They are not eliminating any federal law-enforcement capabilities. They are not significantly hindering federal law enforcement operations. They are not holding significant territory over time. They’re simply acting out in front of the cameras to try to convince you that Trump is powerless...
And Trump has called their bluff. They were counting on what usually happens when the professional agitators in blue cities start getting frisky – they get catered to by the Democrats who run these urban areas... What Trump is doing is messaging to the country that he’s not taking their crap. He’s not going to be intimidated. He’s not going to let this get out of control. The ones who are letting it get out of control are the Democrats who run California, like slack-jawed moron Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Hairstyle.
Let’s understand the relationship between the riots and the Democrat establishment. The rioters are catspaws, cut-outs whose act of violence and intimidation support Democrat policies even as the Democrat establishment pretends to be upset about the chaos. However, the Democrats must at least appear to be trying to maintain order. Trump knows that is one of their weaknesses. He is sticking them with the consequences of their own disorder...
Donald Trump has projected strength, but not too much strength. He understands that normal American citizens are going to show absolutely no sympathy for the vandals, looters, illegal aliens, and other criminals, setting fires and looting 7-Elevens live on television. He has made Democrat officials look weak by ignoring their whining and forcing them to handle the part of the response that creates the worst optics.
At the same time, this situation provides an opportunity for Trump’s federal law enforcement to map out the network of organizations and individuals who coordinated and logistically supported rioting in Los Angeles. This isn’t a unique phenomenon. Leftist groups do this all around the country... And the situation also provides an opportunity to defund the government support to NGOs that launder government money to fund this kind of violence. The LA rioting has exposed our enemy to scrutiny, and we should take full advantage of that to crush it.
Trump is handling this just right...
The left has two main options going forward. One is to become even more violent and see if they can provoke an overreaction – remember, they don’t have the combat power to achieve anything by force... However, they risk overplaying their hand... If some criminal – a substantial number of the rioters are not political activists but common street thugs – decides to shoot a fed and the feds shoot back, normal people are going to cheer.
The second and more likely course of action is for the word to go out to dial back the disorder. It’s not working. It’s not having the desired effect. It’s also hurting the Democrats, who tacitly support the violence but want to maintain distance from it. It’s their city that’s in chaos, not Trump’s. The Democrats are united in whining about Trump not submitting like cowards to the thugs, but all this is doing is making them look weak....

A lot of problems: Trump blames Biden, Trump blames the far-left, Trump blames illegals, Trump blames gangs, Trump blames the Governor of California.
Trump's blame game has come down to his years of rhetoric against Biden, which he still falls back into during interviews (along with all his sycophant yes-men)
The problems he's "Fixing", are ones he created himself.
Quote:Imagine a plumber enters your home to fix a leaky faucet, but as soon as he touches it. It starts shooting rapids across the room and filling your living space up with running water. So the plumber starts blaming the guy the fitted it, blaming the actions of the previous government, blaming the likelihood that illegals were somehow involved, or that some far-left extremist must of tampered with it etc.
While in the meantime hitting it with a hammer to try and bend the pipe and faucet (apply no actual plumbing skills), so it requires more work to fix later. (....and you'd likely never want to contract him again)
Could things of been handled differently.... most definitely, however it wouldn't fix the Trump Brand of "If it ain't broke, then break it and blame Biden"
Incidentally little is mentioned about the arrest of the David Huerta and how that would of likely caused an issue with Unions. Lets hope it doesn't end up like Jimmy Hoffa (considering which building he now likely resides under)
Funny how the Republican principle of states rights is thrown out the window when it comes to making Trump look like the great law enforcer. He has a long history of bitching about Newsom as being incompetent in governing his own state. So this became a prime opportunity to show Newsom up and make him appear weak. It's all about hyping up the Trump brand just as it always is. We've seen it all before.
The core message of the Supremacy Clause is simple: the Constitution and federal laws (of the types listed in the first part of the Clause) take priority over any conflicting rules of state law. This principle is so familiar that we often take it for granted.

It's the same reason state's are not allowed to have slavery after the federal government outlawed it. Most people would consider that a good thing.
Newscum tried to correct a video of LA riots recently posted as being from 2020. Just proves that Newscum has let people burn LA for half a decade now.
