In a previous property I found a rat hole following a pie near the boiler. In my haste I thought I would squirt some undiluted Pine disinfectant down the hole to basically stink it out and not be particularly healthy so the rats wouldn't come out of the hole.
It worked perfectly the rats didn't want to use the hole, the problem was of course that I'd made them abandon underneath the floorboards to actually moving into the flat I was in. So for a number of months I would find rats longingly staring at my feet. (Which to be honest was a bit cringey)
So if you want them out of a space, thats the easy part... it's just making sure that the space they run into isn't the one you don't want them in.
If you think undiluted Pine disinfectant was a bit extreme, supposedly rodents don't like the smell of peppermint, not sure about cthulhu spawn, the might like it.
