IF the US military know 'alien' flying objects are real and have a fair idea of their capabilities .. they might well want to see how a battle group would respond to an actual attack. So sometimes we have the best modern technology simulating an alien 'incursion'. It would be a mistake to assume the limitations of our simulations apply to the thing that is being simulated.
