Dems don't seem to mind their vote being stolen by their own talented tenth.
Why turn out to vote if your party ignores it?

"Sources" supposedly close to Biden are saying that there's no truth to the talk that Biden will be stepping down as 2024 Presidential candidate. Maybe that's true, or maybe these people didn't get the memo.

It sounds like an unofficial Kamala campaign is ramming the gates, regardless, while he's out of action from Covid. They're going to have her rolling so far along by the time he can step out in public again, that he'll have no choice.

Yashar Ali of Huffington Post and New York Magazine says:

"There are few things Nancy Pelosi hates more than intra-party conflicts spilling out in public.

She likes to work behind the scenes to organize everyone and present a crisp, disciplined message to the public.

The leaks that are happening tonight mean that she feels she has no other option.

This is extraordinary and should tell people a lot."

Robert Costa, chief election correspondent for CBS news says:

"Sources close to President Biden tell me tonight they’re *furious* that while the president is trying to recover from Covid in Rehoboth, a pressure campaign keeps picking up speed. Lots of anger toward some donors for talking of $ drying up if he doesn’t quit, toward what they see as muted support from Pres. Obama, and toward Dem leaders who one source says are “hiding” behind statements. If they want him out, they’ll have to push, source adds. Feels disrespected. Still, a fluid moment and no one has figured out an effective way to quiet this drift of nervous Democrats away from Biden and know many Dems want Biden to just break at some point soon."

MJ Lee, CNN White House correspondent says:

"New: Senior-most West Wing advisers to the president say they have had no discussions amongst themselves – or with President Biden – about the president dropping out of the race."

So this was an attempted DNC coup. Biden's not going to make it to August 19 if he doesn't get ruthless in return. He needs to chop off some heads when he gets back on his feet, from Covid.

Democrats prepare for the Biden coup (July 18, 2024)
https://www.wsj.com/articles/democrats-b...p-363a0701

INTRO: One thing we’ve learned over the years is that Washington Democrats are ruthless when threatened by a loss of power. You almost have to admire their cold-blooded calculation. President Biden is now learning this harsh lesson as the Democratic-media complex organizes to, er, persuade him to withdraw from the presidential race.

That effort, which began after Mr. Biden’s failed debate on June 27, is now in full orchestrated gale. The President hasn’t taken the hint to drop out from the withdrawal calls by the media and Congress’s backbenchers, so now the big names are letting it be known they too want Joe to go...

Trump's plan to slam Dems for their 'coup’ against Biden (July 18, 2024)
https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-camp...-joe-biden

INTRO: Donald Trump will attack the Democrats for conducting a “coup” if Joe Biden quits the presidential race, his campaign co-chair told the Daily Beast Thursday.

The former president will try to throw the charge leveled at him over the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection back in Democrats’ faces, Chris LaCivita told the Daily Beast in an exclusive interview at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

“Here’s what’s fascinating about it,” LaCivita said as he mingled on the convention floor in Milwaukee. “You are watching a coup. Literally. In front of your eyes.”

LaCivita, the architect with Susie Wiles of Trump’s 2024 campaign, offered the first insight into how Republicans will deal with a new Democratic candidate as Biden appeared increasingly likely to accede to calls to step aside.

The attack as a “coup plotter” will be matched with a playbook that coninues to attack Biden’s record especially if Biden is succeeded by his vice president, Kamala Harris.

The campaign will run the same strategy if Harris takes over, he said. Biden has already given Republicans too much fodder, he acknowledged. They will also demand that Biden step down as President if he won’t run. That would give them extra ammunition to attack Harris as a sitting President who benefited from a “coup.”

“It’s Joe Biden,” he added, even if the nominee will not, in fact, be Joe Biden, should he step aside... (MORE - details)

Who is in charge of coordinating these events? Cheezy as all get-out...from Hulk Hogan to Kid Rock’s dumb song, and then embracing the jacket and kissing the helmet of Corey Comperatore. Tacky! What, no one thought to ask for a picture of him? And the "us vs. them" mentality was still spread on thick.

That would especially be the curse that follows a populist like DT. I just take it for granted that either of the conventions would be "Zzzzz..." in some context or perspective, which is why I don't watch them.

For instance, even if the hipster DNC featured repeated use of F and C words, had bare breasts and a literal "swinging dick" pantheon, and a variety of speakers were snorting on stage and defecating -- that's still going to be boring to a cable/streaming program watcher like me. Hip isn't hip to those who regularly endure the monotony, or encounter enough sophomoric or rebel-pretentious adults on a routine basis, anyway. Smile

And the possibly more "realistic" scenario of the DNC preaching and waxing into the night about social justice issues would be akin to falling asleep in Church. (Political non-theists still continue the "spooks" of Christianity)

Quote:And the "us vs. them" mentality was still spread on thick.

But that kind of mentality is what football tailgate parties usually revolve around. Basically what politics figuratively is nowadays, or arguably always has been. The fairness doctrine period kind of skewered reality for those born and raised under it, as well as the wailing over its loss years afterward still tainting generations with a craving for pseudo-utopian standards. (I don't intentionally want to watch or participate in tailgate parties, either, but often there's no choice. Wink)
