"On Sunday, Musk re-posted a screenshot of the theory – which appears to have been conceived on 4chan in 2021– on the social media site.

The theory, written by an anonymous user, suggests that the only people able to think freely are “high [testostrone] alpha males” and “aneurotypical people”, and that these “high status males” should run a “Republic” that is “only for those who are free to think.”

“People who can’t defend themselves physically (women and low T men) parse information through a consensus filter as a safety mechanism,” the post reads.

“Only high T alpha males and aneurotypical people (hey autists!) are actually free to parse new information with an objective ‘is this true?’ filter,” it adds. “This is why a Republic of high status males is best for decision making. Democratic, but a democracy only for those who are free to think.”

“Aneurotypical” is not a word but one can assume the original poster meant neurodivergent people.

Theories like this, which promote hegemonic masculinity, are often criticized for being sexist, exclusionary, not realistic and “toxic.” They are popular in alt-right communities.

“Interesting observation,” Musk said, in response to the post.

The screenshot of the theory was uploaded to X by an account called “AutismCapital” which often posts memes that appeal to right-wing individuals and support Musk’s endeavors."

I just thought it was funny, because we know that women and weak men are often more susceptible to social pressure.
That's basically all it's saying... just in a way designed to trigger those exact people.

Really? We do? Cite some of those studies on women and "weak men" then. And while you're at it, how does one objectively determine what a "weak man" is?

[indent=3]However, precisely because women use social media more frequently and seek more attention and validation from others, their emotions are more susceptible to the influence of social media content.

By extension, men who seek attention and validation from others are similarly affected.

Doesn't say anything about women being more susceptible to social pressure.

Not in the study at all. So what does this have to with what you call "weak men"? Is that a scientific term? lol

It literally says "women... are more susceptible to the influence of social media content." Where do you imagine social media content comes from? You know, other than from society.
Those men seem to know they could be seen as weak:

While young distressed men in her study desperately wanted closer social connections and support from family members and friends, they feared being judged as emotionally vulnerable, weak, and unmasculine.

Studies show women have more emotional intelligence than men. Hence they navigate social situations with more savvy and awareness. They are not weak and vulnerable victims of social manipulation. If anything men are.

So you demand that I cite studies, but then you make unsupported claims, huh?
So where is the study showing "emotional intelligence" and better "navigating social situations" offers protection against perceived social consensus?
And how are "social situations" analogous to objective facts?
