Not having your cell phone is the new naked so yes, not wearing clothes is excessive. Years from now if the show is still on, it will focus on surviving without cell phone or cell phone service.

It has elements in common with the Hunger Games (without clothes) - to be naked in a mosquito infested forest - who thought that would make a good show?
I'm pleased Lilly seems to have done well (survived) - she isn't hard to like.

EDIT: Hold on! This particular Twitter account may be UK oriented (or "other Anglophone" oriented), and has links of the rattlesnake video at a different provider than YouTube:

Do you have a VPN or effective proxy of any kind with a US location option, C2? Maybe you could mask your whereabouts that way and gain access to the video with the rattlesnake excerpt. Though I guess they've got better algorithms these day for discerning when a VPN is being used.

One thing I discovered is that the actual show bleeps out the coarse language, which the vid does not. I almost feel it must be a mandatory requirement in reality shows that the contestants use as many ###ts and ###ks as possible when referring to any incident or situation. Kind of like HBO has a similar quota for characters in its fictional programming (though that primarily consists of a monotonous use of ###k variations alone).

I don't think I want to watch Lilly suffering .. loving the 3 pointer shot though. I'll let sleeping dogs lie.

What did Lilly shoot? Was it luck? Luck must figure into the survival game. Does being skilled in a particular genre improve a person's luck in that arena?

If you shovel shit working hard for a living I’m not sure what luck would bring you, a bigger shovel? Of course Twain didn’t elaborate whether his luck was good or bad, did he?

Did Lilly kill food with a million to one shot? What gives?

The rattlesnake incident occurred on the first day, and was also the first meat they acquired. Maybe the only reptile/mammal kill that Sam had or participated in -- he cut off the head while she pinned it with a stick.

They labeled themselves team "Silly" -- a combination of her name and his. The first two Europeans ever accepted for the challenge.

They noticed the first water source they set up at was slowly drying up, so they had to move on to a spring Sam found elsewhere. Then it started raining (for days) and the temperature dropped. They were at a high elevation and the thinness of the air did a number on them, too.

I think they said Lilly lost 26 pounds during the three weeks and Sam lost circa ten more than that.

She made some complicated animal traps, but armadillos or something kept fouling them up. The non-mechanistic crayfish trap only caught single, modest-sized ones now and then. She finally started catching them by hand.

She nailed a huge rabbit. It was a calculated shot (she's usually good with a bow and arrow). They desperately needed food in order to make the several hours walk back to an extraction point (otherwise it's a fail to complete even though they made it to the 21st day).

The other times Lilly was coming off the effects of her Hashimoto's thyroiditis in relation to the cold (that's her Achilles' heel), in addition to both starving because Sam had to spend all his time gathering firewood. She was weak when she hit the rabbit, too, but that's the thing -- when it mattered most at the end, she came through.

The only episode of "Naked and Afraid" I've ever seen, but apparently it was a memorable one to those who have seen them all or many.

Rev 22:2 Infinity: I just learned of you from watching the show, and I've seen every episode of the show from it's beginning. You and Sam were the most touching couple I've ever seen. To watch you in your darkest and so close to tap.

Your partner Sam is a gem and the way he helped you believe in yourself and as a team is priceless. This was the best episode I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. For the love of your partner you were willing to sacrifice yourself and Sam's love for you wouldn't allow you to give up. It was the perfect episode. Easily my favorite participants. I've never fell in love with the cast as much as you two. Congrats on this accomplishment. It was awesome to watch.

OnTheRive66: My wife and son and I watched you tonight and you and Sam were the best partners I have seen on any of these episodes!❤ In my opinion this is the best episode they have ever had.

Ragnarock313: You guys rocked that challenge! Probably the best episode of Naked and afraid to date. Team Silly FTW!!!

Do these contestants go on show to survive or find love?

Lilly will probably make a few bucks from this by sounds of things.

It's "partner" as in a team duo. Sam is married and a father, and Lilly may be as well (perhaps with kids, too). Her last name that one article provided is not the name she was born with (according to other sources). Toward the end of the ordeal, Sam referred to a sister-like relationship he would have with her for the rest of his life.

Yah, nothing wrong making money. She may receive a bit from the equipment of companies that she reviews. At least she doesn't pursue the SHTF angle as aggressively as others -- survivalism comes across more as a hobby for her. Though interesting times (news) always demands some attention, like when energy prices increase dramatically due to the politics of a war progressing a few hundred miles away.
