Bills versus Bengals Monday Night Football Jan 2 |
No Super Bowl for Bills this year. One of those franchises that just can’t get it done. Until there’s really good news about Mr Hamlin then I can see them tanking in playoffs. Peaked too early and a year riddled with injuries. Plus the fact other NFL coaches are very good at analyzing video.
My own impression of the NFL this year is that Buffalo is the class of the AFC, while San Francisco is the class of the NFC. I'd love to see those two teams meet in the Super Bowl.
(I'm sure Kansas City would have something to say about that, but so what? I like Buffalo.)
Reports are coming in from both Hamlin's agent and from the Buffalo Bills, that his condition is improving.
The Bills tweeted this: "Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours. While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress. His agent says that he is conscious, his family is with him, he recognizes them and they are holding hands. Would his lungs be damage from the CPR performed on him? (Jan 5, 2023 04:00 AM)Zinjanthropos Wrote: No Super Bowl for Bills this year. One of those franchises that just can’t get it done. "The Bills were uplifted by the encouraging medical reports as they returned to practice Thursday in preparation to play a home game against the New England Patriots on Sunday. " Yep, I'd say even the Patriots might beat them this weekend, given all the distractions they had prior to this thumbs-up. Damar Hamlin's breathing tube removed and he's able to talk, telling teammates "Love you boys," Buffalo Bills say
Reportedly the first thing he wanted to know after the breathing tube was removed as "Did we win the game??"
I like this kid!

Damar Hamlin has been released from the U. of Cincinnati medical center and has returned to Buffalo. His Cincinnati doctors say that he will still be hospitalized in Buffalo but wouldn't comment specifically on his condition. Apparently that Buffalo hospitalization is largely to investigate why this happened to him in the first place and whether there is any underlying heart pathology. Otherwise he will continue to recuperate under medical supervision.
When asked if he could ever play football again, they were noncommittal, but suggested that it might be some time away. The doctors said that he is neurologically intact and was walking almost as soon as his breathing tube was removed. Did you see the incident in the Green Bay/Detroit game last night when two Packers gave a Lion’s medical staffer a physical shot? One guy was ejected. Makes you wonder how sincere these guys are when saying they’re concerned about a severely injured player. (Jan 9, 2023 10:59 PM)Zinjanthropos Wrote: Good news.
