(May 13) Operation Lone Star Transports Over 900 Migrants To Nation’s Capital, Continues Joint Border Security Efforts With Mexican Governors
https://gov.texas.gov/es/news/post/opera...-governors

INTRO: Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas National Guard are continuing to work together to secure the border, stop the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people into Texas, and prevent, detect, and interdict transnational criminal behavior between ports of entry.

Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, multi-agency efforts have led to more than 246,000 migrant apprehensions, along with more than 15,000 criminal arrests — and more than 12,400 felony charges. Over 4,800 weapons and over $38 million in currency have been seized. In the fight against fentanyl, DPS has seized over 344 million lethal doses throughout the state.

As part of the response to President Joe Biden's reckless decision to end Title 42 expulsions this month, which his own administration has estimated will lead to 18,000 illegal crossings per day, Governor Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to charter buses to transport migrants from Texas border communities to Washington, D.C. Since launching this busing operation a month ago, a total of 35 buses have transported 922 migrants.

(April 13) Migrants arrive in Washington, D.C., from Texas under Abbott’s new controversial plan
https://www.texastribune.org/2022/04/13/...ington-dc/

EXCERPTS: . . . The governor said the order is in response to the Biden administration’s decision to end Title 42, a pandemic-era emergency health order that allowed immigration authorities at the border to deny entry to migrants, even those seeking asylum.

When the health order goes away at the end of May, federal authorities expect as many as 18,000 migrants a day at the southern border. [...] The program is voluntary for migrants and must be requested by cities and counties, but the state pays for the buses.

"By busing migrants to Washington, D.C., the Biden Administration will be able to more immediately meet the needs of the people they are allowing to cross our border,” Abbott said in a Wednesday morning statement. “Texas should not have to bear the burden of the Biden Administration’s failure to secure our border."

Abbott’s office has said transportation to the nation’s capital would happen only after migrants detained at the border had been processed and released by the Department of Homeland Security... (MORE - missing details)

(May 4) Migrants Bused To DC Don’t Stay There. Here’s Where They’re Going
https://dailycaller.com/2022/05/04/abbot...dc-border/

KEYPOINTS: Migrants bused to Washington, D.C. by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told the Daily Caller News Foundation that they don’t plan to stay in the nation’s capital.

“We were gonna go to New York, but the person is not responding to us, so now we want to go to Florida. We’re seeing if people can help us because there are people that will receive us in Florida and give us work in order to get settled,” one migrant told the DCNF.

Around three dozen migrants from Cuba, Venezuela, and Angola departed two buses that arrived Wednesday morning.

[...] “They treated me badly in Mexico. The police hit me and cut me here [on body]. I’ve also got bruises from them,” a migrant from Venezuela said, showing the DCNF the bruises down his body and a gash under his eye. “Thank God I could get away from them and that I’m here in the United States to move forward..." Well, IN PRINCIPLE (cough cough), all that's needed is to wholeheartedly adopt the stern policies, implemented for decades without ANY US government/MSM approbation, by the USA's 'staunchest friend, and closest ally':

To suggest any double standards here is of course a very uncomfortable thing to do!
