Yes. Biden's dementia led to open border that caused the Party's loss (Dem community)

Could finally be admitted after the worst had already happened to the Party. Biden truly was oblivious to or incapable of grasping the private property damage and crime along the border caused by migrants, smugglers, and drug traffickers. Ironically, Biden could not even comprehend how the lax security was causing migrant deaths in thinly populated, water-less counties. Processing them is as much for their own safety as for that of the border states citizens. Kind of akin to how nobody in their right mind would allow young children who like to climb over barriers to run around unescorted in a zoo (i.e., travelers not familiar with the foreign landscape they are entering).

Now it can be told

VIDEO EXCERPTS: There was also an open border policy it seemed like under Biden, and we [the Party and its media] couldn't admit it was a problem.

[...] One of the things we discovered when we did this book ...was... there's Senator Bennett from Colorado, who went to an event in June 2024, where Biden seemed non-functioning. And he left that event ... thinking this is why our our border policy, our immigration policy, is such a mess. This guy can't manage the portfolio. There are competing groups within the administration, and he's not engaged for whatever reason. And that's why this policy is such a mess.

I know that the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security thought there was going to be an order early on in the Biden years that would shut down the border, or at least provide more security. But the order never came.

So people talk about what are the repercussions of Biden not being what we expect a president to be, just in terms of mentally functioning 100% of the time. This is one of those things.

[...] Honestly, it's not just Biden. I mean, I just I mentioned this during the show, that our governor here recently reversed one of the policies we had here which was free medical care to undocumented migrants, which pissed off a lot of people who think that that shouldn't be happening. We should take care of our own citizens, and that's why our taxes are so high. [...] The policy included unauthorized migrants being driven to medical appointments...

So they had him propped up with sticks and wires. A real testament to how little it takes to pass for a lucid and functioning president before an adoring nation. No telling what Trump gets away with. Well...we kinda know. It's just that the bar is set so low for him hardly anyone cares.

We are living in a hyper-polarized era where the pundit machinery of each party is oriented toward defending, justifying, and outright inventing (if necessary) reasons for why their President is advocating or allowing _X_.

No "calling a spade a spade" is allowed, even when it really is the result of a cognitive malfunction. An incredibly complex arsenal of intellectual acrobatics will be recruited to explain why President Castillo is standing on his head at a meeting, mumbling the lyrics of "Stayin' Alive".

No dissension or questioning permitted within the party without a major backlash. "Our leader is a genius. An absolute genius, because what's really going on is...."

That kind of party loyalty only exists among Democrats. Republicans have always been a more internally divided party.
