Seceding from Oregon: just how much bigger could Idaho get? (West Coast community)

A high homeless population in Portland is less a statement of a liability than it is sign of virtue. In Portland homelessness is the number one priority for the mayor and city council, spurring the construction of mini-homes, homeless shelters, and the implementation of rehabilitation programs. People who are homeless know this and move here to receive help. Besides, Portland is just an overall nice place to live. I'd live here if I was homeless. There are alot of compassionate liberals here.

Thanks for making my point. Not only is the homelessness problem bad in Portland, but they are actively incentivizing more homeless to move there. All of their policies only enable more homelessness. There's no virtue in exacerbating learned helplessness. Too bad moron leftists will never comprehend basic human nature.

LOL Not only is the sickness problem bad in hospitals, but they are actively incentivizing more sick people to stay there. All their policies only enable more sickness.

Oh, I completely get how you'd want to equate the homeless (and presumably the prevalence of mental illness among them) with physical illness, as you suffer from depression and don't want to believe that your beliefs or actions contribute to that. While some doctors literally do enable people, by over-prescribing pain meds, treating symptoms instead of causes, prescribing pills or surgery instead of diet and exercise, etc., they don't generally enable more sickness or dependence on a hospital unless absolutely needed. If leftist policies actually remedied homelessness, there would be less homelessness in their cities. And while Oregon's homeless population has varied over the years, it has yet to show any sustained decreasing trend.

The results speak for themselves.
