Is it fair then to say that all progressives would consider themselves liberal, but not all liberals subscribe to progressivism? Progressivism in theory is supposed to be for all us “ordinary” people, yes? But, it doesn’t feel that way.

I'm more of centrist liberal myself and certainly am NOT a progressive. I think capitalism, if checked with some common sense regulations, is actually a good system, and am not that keen on "eating the rich" (I'm on a diet). I also think we have a responsibility to the impoverished in our society to help them. But I'm not for any socialist dispensation of funds to them. Help them receive training and employment in good paying jobs. Free college education would also be a good start in that direction. I'm also for universal health care, no matter how long the lines in the ER.

You may have shared your political views in the past, and I missed it. But, interesting!

I don’t believe that most Americans “loathe” the idea of universal healthcare, but many wonder how it would all play out in a practical way. Like the everyday mechanics of it. Also, I think that many who want that option for themselves, believe that they’ll be getting the best healthcare for free. I doubt that will happen.
