He's also a very intelligent and reliable and experienced journalist. Trump is a lying shitbag with the vocabulary of a third grader.

This thread was originally about the Gaza peace plan and whatever its results might be. That's still the focus of my interest.

MR's antipathy to Trump has little or nothing to do with current events in the Middle East.

I'm just hoping they do get the hostages back. How ever many are still alive.
Beyond that, I don't really care. It's pretty much up to the Gazans, if they want peace or not.

I trust Yazata far more than I trust Trump. If Yazata says Trump is telling the truth - he probably is.

When painting corners, it's a good idea to stand outside of the corner you are painting rather than painting yourself into one.

Hopefully that small piece of common sense will play out appropriately with any peace deal, otherwise Trumps going to be like a cat walking backwards through an open door.

A problem.
3rd Ocober 2025 BBC report

Quote:Deadly fighting erupts between Hamas and Palestinian clan in Gaza
The southern Gaza city of Khan Younis has witnessed one of the fiercest internal confrontations since the war began, between a Hamas security force and gunmen from the al-Mujaida clan - one of the largest families in the south.
According to Hamas, its forces raided the neighbourhood to detain individuals accused of collaborating with Israel.
Local accounts, however, described an armed assault by about 50 men riding in five pickup trucks, armed with assault rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher, who stormed the al-Mujaida quarter and killed five members of the family.
.................
It is not just the extent of anger which Hamas faces from its many opponents whom it has humiliated during its 17 years in power which is thought to be a key factor driving the group to reject Donald Trump's ceasefire plan. It is also the fear of violent retribution, of being killed in the street, since the plan requires Hamas to completely disarm.
The head of its military wing in Gaza has indicated he does not agree to the plan, which Trump unveiled on Tuesday, the BBC understands. The president has given the group until 18:00 EDT (22:00 GMT) on Sunday to agree to it, or face "all Hell".

Will Hamas put 'the people' before themselves .. probably not. I get the impression Israel have continued bombing .. which looks like an attempt from their side to derail the agreement proposed by Trump.
This looks like an agreement neither side wants. Unless there's any change at the 11th hour ..

The only 20 points that matters to Hamas are at the end of bombs, bullets and missiles.

If Hamas' mission is to make people hate Israel .. don't the bombs, bullets and missiles work in their favour?
