Still don't feel any confidence from the below. If Biden doesn't get angry, pull out the Tommy gun, and nip the coup in the bud in the next 2 or 3 days, then he's toast at some point before the DNC.

(July 19, 2024) Biden plans to resume campaigning

INTRO: President Biden vowed on Friday to return to the campaign trail next week, maintaining his public defiance even as people close to the president said they believe he has begun to waver privately about whether to stay in the race against former President Donald J. Trump.

As Mr. Biden isolates because of Covid at his beach house in Delaware, the crisis engulfing his presidency is playing out in two very different environments — among his closest advisers and family behind closed doors, and in front of the cameras, with the world watching.

Publicly, Mr. Biden and his campaign advisers are giving no ground. In a statement, he said he was eager to campaign again so that he could “continue exposing the threat of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda while making the case for my own record.” Jen O’Malley Dillon, the chair of the president’s campaign, said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that “he’s in it to win it.” (MORE - details)

And the "us vs. them" mentality was still spread on thick.

Just doing what democrats do. Bring out the celebs and try to build a big tent.

Don Knott’s advice from the grave still beats anything Joe can offer.

There's the president who lived and the president clinging to youth .. could almost be the plot of a book.

It was like Rocky when he was walking out to AC/DC’s “Back in Black”.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a feminist until there’s something that the weighs over 50lbs, but “It’s a Man’s World” was little over the top.  And then the fight, fight, fight, Trump, Trump, Trump, bullshit.

With having J.D. Vance, Oliver Anothy would have been a good choice, but I guess he wasn’t an option.

Just a wee bit of political decorum would have been nice.

So... you want a strong leader but you find the reactions of people to a strong leader... distasteful?
You want to be protected, but you don't want that necessity rubbed in your nose?

If our culture appreciated, instead of demonized, men for their masculine qualities, we likely wouldn't see any of this.

Oliver Anthony isn't Republican, nor conservative.

Ah, tone policing.

None of what I saw demonstrated strong leadership. The strength of his ideas lies in the substance, not in any superficial trappings or theatrics.

That's why I said he wasn't an option.

He should be able to command respect without resorting to flashy or superficial displays.
