Art of Glass Blowing

Some equipment I didn't expect to see in there. (Pesky add-ons since the Roman Empire days, apparently.)

Glass blowing terminologies

Just great. Undecided Clues like "flame-cutting, oxidizing flame, hand torch, neutral flame, tanks, oxygen regulator, hoses, etc" are no longer a cinch for a shop cutting, welding, fabricating with metal.

On the other hand... Idea }:->

Wow! That took some time, skill, and effort. Now we know why the piggy bank and snowman are priced at $200.

An acquaintance of mine, her husband does that. I don't know how much money he makes, but she's a dentist so he's probably not a starving artist. He takes on apprentices.

I want to learn how to do masonry work, and I've thought about working as an apprentice, but most of the local ones here are...hmm, well, let's just say that they're overly forward.

This is probably an extremely bad suggestion and should be ignored. Tell them you were born a boy and have been having the female hormones for a few years now. Saving up for surgery.

What does that have to do with glass blowing?

Purely a guess on my part, but C2 may have been offering a facetious solution to the problem or impediment in the final sentence of SS's post, while simultaneously disparaging or withdrawing the suggestion.

This reply itself is not helping to get things back on topic, just adding a second installment to the detour stimulus. A caught between a rock and a hard place kind of posting decision.

Some members in here may be getting online with hybrid devices that don't make quoting easy or render the thread in confusing way that hinders quoting or even copying. So they opt for Quick Reply (or New Reply) and its lack of clearer indication of what they're responding to.

lol I didn't see SS' post at all until just now. Wow. I sometimes login here using my phone and it's tough to scroll through at times.

Re: the class I took - it's funny SS says that, because I've noticed that instructors in general, with art, glass blowing like this class was, etc...they can be a little boundary-less. We'll leave that there. Forward/flirty, not sure of the word. But, in a way, I sometimes admire people who exhibit those traits, because I'm rather cautious, by nature.

That instructor had incredible patience and really helped keep the class on track, as we all made mistake after mistake. I didn't expect the heat to be so hot.  Blush

A little off topic but relevant to reading the topic:
Which way up do you hold your phone when scrolling? (Navigation is best in the horizontal position, with lengthways being horizontal although you likely already use it that way round.) Is there anything cosmetic that can be changed to aid in making scrolling easier? (Text size change, button size changes or placements etc. I don't tend to use phones to access but if it's impeding access I will attempt to remedy it where possible.)

I will attempt to quote at least something about what I am referring to. I can see that an apparently random suggestion about saving up for a sex change operation could seem 'odd'.  Sorry about that.

I hold it horizontally, but the text appears large on my phone so I have to scroll from left to right, and I might miss something. No worries.
