Brain treats questions about beliefs like physical threats. Can we disarm it?

No, even against overwhelming odds. The fact that "liberals" are afraid of guns simply means that there are some threats they have zero means of facing. Justification for cowardice?

If you have to carry a gun to feel safe in our society, you're definitely living in fear. That's what all gun nuts have in common. The paranoia of being attacked by somebody. Hence the false courage and bravado of having a gun.

So you're telling me you'd be willing to go walking around in Compton, or a similar neighborhood in your neck of the woods? That is "in our society", right?
Classic leftist/conservative difference. Where conservatives believe freedom is worth the risk, leftists believe sacrificing freedom is worth avoiding the risk.
And if you're afraid of your fellow, law-abiding citizen carrying a gun, you're jumping at far more boogeymen than conservatives.

No..I'm smart enough to stay out of crime infested neighborhoods. That's what makes me gunfree--I control the situations I expose myself to. And that includes not hanging around gun nuts.

So your idea of "our society" is only the areas that are crowded, well-lit, or well-patrolled by police. You willingly sacrifice your own freedom to appease your own cowardice. Got it.

And you calling any law-abiding citizen who carries a gun a "gun nut" only proves your fear of average people...where most people only fear actual criminals.

My idea of a free society is being able to go to any public place I want and associating with whoever I please. You have a problem with that?

EXCERPT: . . . The study uncovered a correlation: when a belief is directly challenged by new information, parts of the brain that typically show activity for physical threats expressed greater activity in people who tended to be more resistive to changing their minds.

“The brain can be thought of as a very sophisticated self-defense machine," [Jonas] Kaplan told me. "If there is a belief that the brain considers part of who we are, it turns on its self-defense mode to protect that belief.”

Kaplan argues that this demonstrates that the brain reacts to belief challenges in the same way that it reacts to perceived physical threats. This would help explain why minds are so resistant to change the beliefs that form one’s perception of reality....

and yet women are too aggresive and by your inferance abusers because they seek revolution to seek equality of power...
yet you wish to profit from the revolution of those liberals before you then deny it to others beneath your power network ?

sounds more like your ideology is feudal.

Yet you just said, "I'm smart enough to stay out of crime infested neighborhoods. That's what makes me gunfree--I control the situations I expose myself to."
So by your own admission, you're not free "to go any public place". I don't care if you choose to limit your own freedom out of fear. That's your prerogative.
If you have to be careful where you go and what law-abiding citizens you associate with to feel safe in our society, you're definitely living in fear.

Women need guns in order to have equal power, because men can naturally bring disproportional force to bear. What women may do on social media largely only affects other women, with whom they have parity. Profit? What revolution? What's being denied to others?

Sounds like you talking out of your ass.

LOL! I freely choose not to go places that put my life in danger. That's not fear. That's common sense.

So when's the last time you strolled thru Compton?

I don't have to be careful. I just go where I please and am quite peaceful about it. My rational choice of location spares me the inconvenience of fearing for my life or having to carry a gun to protect myself.
