How do you fare on the Hoeflin 25 question IQ test?

I achieved a score of 135 sd 15 which translates to 138 sd 16 but they claim that our IQ should be understood to be slightly higher in comparison to the general population. I am pursuing a Bachelor's of education in applied mathematics with a minor in computer science and I want to know if I am qualified as my IQ while normal may be safely estimated to be 140 sd 16 and my "high" IQ at 300 sd 16, making me the smartest person in the world and perhaps even history while on that drug for a short time.

General Intelligence Test
This 25 question untimed test is designed to measure your general intelligence.

Please do not use any reference materials (e.g. books, calculators, online or computer resources) or the help of anyone else in working these problems. You may use scrap paper, and pen or pencil.

Many of the problems are quite difficult, and several may contain words, names or terms with which you may be unfamiliar. Be sure to answer every problem, even if this means guessing on some problems. There are no penalties for guessing.

Although there is no time limit, try to complete the test in 1 or 2 sessions.

Your estimated IQ score, general population percentile ranking, and the answers to the problems are all provided when you complete the test.

Even though it is advertised as an IQ test it obviously is not, only a general intelligence quiz, whatever that is. By the time you read to the end of the first sentence, the words 'general intelligence' are mentioned 3 times.

Wouldn't any writing surface do?

Nothing like telling me in redundant style that there are problems to figure out. One thing the test might reveal is how good a guesser one is, a true measure of intelligence if I ever saw one. Is it multiple choice?

The inference here is that it is hard and if you don't want to guess then maybe you need more sessions....you only have to try to get it done in 1 or 2.

How many times do we need to be told the test contains problems?

Test Population vs. General Population

The population of people who take our tests is almost certainly skewed in comparison to the general U.S. population. The people taking our tests are typically much brighter than average compared to the general public. We make some adjustments in our scoring to compensate for this; however, our methods are very conservative compared to most of the sites on the internet, which too often assign exaggerated scores.

You disagree with the scoring methods? To explain, the method used to obtain data is highly sophisticated, so the test can indeed be trusted. An extremely large sample of the population were used to norm this test. And they were found to be disproportionately above average.

WTF? How in the world would they know this? This is salesmanship. Snake oil. People love to hear that they're smart even before they take a test that might tell them otherwise. Unless of course they adjust your score.

My point is that if you're going to test for intelligence, or advertise for some,  then at least show some of your own.

The only thing I liked was the triangle symbol. How many triangles are there? Quadrilaterals?

I just scored one point higher to reach 16. I think I maxed out.
