It will save her a lot of thought and become her standard response to many posts. Basically a cop-out.

Lololol I noticed it in a response to Syne, before noticing this thread. Syne, that made you laugh at least a little, right? Big Grin

Stuff that predictable is more boring than funny.
I've known for years that SS regularly has to beg off from arguments she can't support. This is just the natural outcome of her repeatedly backing herself into a corner...like a trapped animal that can only hiss and spit in impotent rage.

Just the ultimate expression of her words failing her.

Hardly, you’re dishonest and evasive. You merely respond to tiny segments of criticism rather than the central point. Here’s a perfect example. Based upon your statement, you clearly don’t understand evolution.

Humans have been so successful for so long that we've been able to protect the survival of the "less fit", very often keeping them in the gene pool. As such, we may have unintentionally bred these very weaknesses, and nature may be catching up.

I point out your obvious error with "survival of the fittest" in that "fit" is frequently confused with the state of physical fitness, and then you try to spin it, as if you knew that all along.  Dodgy

And then you end it with this emotional appeal…

Syne Wrote:If the young and reproductive die due to the consequences of lock downs, they are failing to pass on their genotypic/phenotypic traits. And all to save those who cannot. According to science, that is wholly irrational.

The virus is causing more harm but everyone knows that the lockdowns are causing a substantial amount of harm, as well, but your 'so-be-it' reaction is nothing short of age discrimination.

There’s ten times the risk for down syndrome individuals with Covid-19.

You don’t believe in abortion but you’re all for Covid-19 being crucial to natural selection.

*golf clap

Try to be a better person, Syne, and then maybe you won't have to worry about failing to pass on your genotypic/phenotypic traits.

You're projecting again. You're the one who routinely avoids all but a sparse few points you mistakenly presume you can refute, and when that fails you, you inevitably either get dismissive or, as we see in this post, just start dredging up older and even irrelevant posts.

No, this is just more of you trying to find fault where none actually exists. Covid is literally an environmental pressure that can shape natural selection. Harmful autoantibodies are literally a factor of genotypic fitness. Nor is there anything controversial about the fact that modern society does prolong the survival of some far beyond what could be expected in nature. You're just so eager to pick a fight that you get pedantic over a phrase (survival of the fittest) that I didn't even use. Learn to read what's actually written, not what you imagine.

Really? The utilitarian notion that we should prioritize the survival of the reproducing is an emotional appeal? Well, your take on it is certainly emotional...hence your new emoji.

You seem to repeatedly be ignoring every time I've said we should isolate and protect the vulnerable. Hint, that means the elderly. What is age discrimination about protecting those who need it while allowing those who don't to keep the economy healthy enough to better support those at-risk? Again, isolating and protecting those at-risk can encompass any subpopulation that falls into the category, including Down syndrome. Which makes you bringing that up a complete red herring.

Fact, Covid (or any other disease or hazard) is an environmental pressure in natural selection. Don't like it? Take it up with nature and science.
Nowhere in there did I so much as imply that I'm rooting for Covid. Your own motivated reasoning is justifying emotional and unsupported demonization.

I'm not worried about anything. I'm not suffering any ill effects of a lock down nor any financial hardship. So again, quit projecting.

Yeah, nice try but no cigar.

You used "less fit" in regards to natural selection and then you even said...

Survival of the fittest is not related to physical fitness.

Weak, sick and dumb people produce offspring. According to Darwin’s theory, they’d be more fit than you.

Aww, don’t worry though, little guy, you’re dumb, so you got that going for you.

Then you explain to me how genotype and phenotype are physically fit in you're straw man sense of life-span. Physical fitness in the sense of life-span is strictly on an individual basis. That is not an expression of phenotype and, at best, only a partial expression of genotype. So you're straw man is only exposing you as the ignorant one.

Fuck off, twat. We all recognize that you're just being toxic because you're an insecure piece of shit.

And yet again, you're making up straw men, as no one said the weak, sick, or dumb don't reproduce. That's another red herring, as I've been talking about the old this whole time. But once you've become emotional, illustrated by your new emoji, you're no longer capable of making reasonable arguments.

I’ve already explained it.

Fitness is a measure of reproductive success.
