EXCERPT: Police in Waterloo region believe a suspect who sprayed a "noxious substance" in a Kitchener movie theatre Friday did the same thing in Whitby later that afternoon.

The first incident happened at Landmark Cinemas near Sportsworld Drive in Kitchener around 1 p.m. Friday. ... Police say a man entered the theatre during the screening of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, used an object to cut the movie screen and sprayed people with what police believe was bear spray. Then, around 3 p.m. that afternoon, a man did the same thing during a screening of the same film at a movie theatre on Consumers Drive in Whitby.

... The Waterloo Regional Police Service and the Durham Regional Police Service believe the two incidents are related. Officers are now searching for a man between 25 and 30 years old, with a thin build and a black beard.
