I suppose that's it.
People think that because they are old, they will be faulty.
Mine's almost as good as it was ten years ago.
I think it will last another ten given a chance.
But why replace it?

Yah, I'd keep it. We've still got a 15-year old CRT monitor hooked up to one desktop computer. They definitely outlive LCDs, though to some extent that depends on how much they are abused. Shortened lifespan if no screensaver was used to prevent the pixels from retaining burnt-in images, or they were perpetually left on without setting an automatic shutdown after an unused period. Like often seems the case in some hospitals. Don't know how many times I've seen a PC monitor in a room that had nothing to do with displaying patient readings running with or without a screensaver for 24/7. If similar happened back in the days when CRT monitors were what they had.... Sheeesh.

Does anyone remember the old green screen monitors?
You used to be able to read the writing on them when they were switched off.
