This year we had 400 people show up. On the downside, the float broke down almost immediately, and we had to push it for most of the way.
But other than that it was a very good year for the parade. No rain or 104F temps (we've had them in the past.) There was a VERY low flyby of F-15's over the parade route; never seen that before. And another plus - this was the first year we didn't have protesters yelling at us. Makes me hope that progress is being made.
I went to get a pride flag on line and I realized that there are literally dozens of pride flags. So I got a regular pride flag and a few others, since they were only $5 ea:
-A bisexual pride flag (family member is bisexual)
-A straight-ally pride flag (most people at the parade were straight)
-A genderfluid flag (friend's child is nonbinary)
-A trans pride flag (I was marching with a colleague who is trans)
I just handed them out at the beginning of the parade and let other people carry most of them. Afterwards everyone wanted to take pictures in front of them, so I guess they were worth it.
