And here's me thinking America was all about the separation of church from state.
AKA "if you have a problem figerrin' out if you're fer me, or Trump - you ain't black". ![]() (Oct 31, 2020 05:53 AM)Syne Wrote:(Oct 30, 2020 08:37 PM)Leigha Wrote: I voted today. But anyway...I'm not into arguing with people I'll never meet on an internet forum. Kind of why I don't come around here or even to sci-forums as often, anymore. Too much gas-lighting and mud-slinging. Sci-forums is worse, to be fair. I mean, look at my post. I simply stated I voted, and a member here launches into a personal attack. Oh well. Anyways, happy Halloween to sci-village! Don't forget to set the clocks back tonight. ![]() ![]() (Oct 31, 2020 05:58 PM)Leigha Wrote:(Oct 31, 2020 05:53 AM)Syne Wrote:(Oct 30, 2020 08:37 PM)Leigha Wrote: I voted today. Really? There's only one party that really fights for both, and the other politicians get denied communion for their stances. The only alternative to a competitive political system is an authoritarian one in which people don't have the freedom to choose to be moral. ![]()
That's right. If you follow my posts, you'll know the answer to that question. Not who I voted for.
Trump isn't a moral guy, Syne. And both parties are corrupt, to varying degrees. You must know that. It comes down to the lesser of two evils. I don't know anyone who voted for or is voting for Trump, who actually feels on fire to do so. They simply don't want Biden. But, these two parties aren't the only choice. Are you on fire for Trump? Not sure why the font changed when I used italics, above. Hmm... ![]() (Oct 31, 2020 07:36 PM)Leigha Wrote: That's right. If you follow my posts, you'll know the answer to that question. Not who I voted for. Exactly. You either threw away your vote (immoral by inaction), or voted for the corrupt, immoral, pro-abortion, candidate (outright immoral). Who said Trump was moral? And since when is anyone foolish enough to hold politicians, of all people, up to that standard? They don't have to be moral to do good. God uses broken people. No, both parties are no where near comparably corrupt. Hiding that fact being "to varying degrees" is either ignorance or lying. And you're way out of touch if you don't think people are voting "for Trump". Apparently the "secret Trump voter" is a secret from you. This isn't 2016, where many did hold their noses to vote against Hillary. Maybe try watching any of the many Trump rallies to see what you're obviously missing. Before Covid, Trump had done more for minorities than any president in decades. What part of "lowest black and latino unemployment in all of US history" don't you understand? What part of "lowest overall US unemployment in decades" don't you understand? That literally means fewer children going hungry. Anyone else would return us to Obama's anemic economy and jobs growth. And even since Covid, Trump cut off travel while Dems and media excoriated him for it, the economy has recovered much faster than expected, and power-hungry fearmongers have done more damage than Covid alone would have. In 2016, I was a never-Trumper, having no idea how a Democrat until two minutes ago would govern. Since then, he's delivered on most his promises (except the ones thwarted by Dems), struck four peace deals in the Middle East/Balkans, exposed tons of media bias, and provoked the Dems into showing their true faces/agendas. Like it or not, Trump is the best bet for America, in every regard. And only a fool would think that this "defund the police", "let them riot", protests over police shooting armed criminals, and indeterminate lockdowns are a good thing. ![]()
Too late now. It’s a done deal. She already voted. Maybe you should have followed Yazata’s advice, eh?

I’m against defunding the police and riots. You don’t have to be pro-Trump to be against these things.
I don’t like how Trump handled the pandemic. It’s why we have so much division - the confused messages between the WH and state governors. But if you’re strong for Trump, you’ll see that differently. I don’t like this two party monopoly, either. |
