Had to happen. Can’t fix stupid and to not seek help knowing you may have the virus makes Hans a serious threat for a Darwin Award. How many others like him are there?

Next question: How much have churches contributed to spreading the virus?

Considering more religious states that have had fewer Covid restrictions have had far fewer cases, not many.

Heard on a radio talk show today (stumbled upon it, but it had a conservative host) that many on the left seem to have redefined Republicanism to “blindly” following Trump. Wonder if the Trump presidency redefined how many view Republicans?
As an Independent, I can stay neutral and see value in some of Trump’s policies, without being chastised for forever and a day. lol

Last 4 nights I’ve been binge watching an old tv series called One Step Beyond. It’s something like the Twilight Zone but supposed to be based on real human experiences.

Watch 6 episodes a night. Some are pretty good. I love checking the credits after to find names that later became Hollywood legends/stars. Video and sound not the greatest but it passes the time. Couple of the stories I’ve heard before. My favourite was an astral projection episode where a clinically dead guy supposedly visited an Italian town while on an operating table, except that he didn’t know it and thus stirred up a hornets nest when he actually did visit a month or so later.

Culinary thing here.
Butter!
The MIL gave us half a pound of butter. Why? Is secondary to How? Given that she's 99 and has been locked down since forever.
Anyway the butter was added to the list of resources available.
I dislike waste and had to eat it.
What a blooming chore.
Impossible to spread even on toast.
Lumpy butter and Marmite on toast?
Give me margarine.
Since Napoleon's day we haven't had to bother with butter - why is it even a thing now?

Poor* growing up, relied on margarine. Remember those plastic bags with the little dot you pressed to put food colour into the contents while squishing the bag repeatedly. Swore to myself when got older that I’d never touch oleo again. I’ve lived up to that and it’s butter or nothing for me.
*We weren’t as bad off as our neighbours. I remember those kids eating lard sandwiches with sugar sprinkled on them. How many of you have been offered a lard sandwich and then turn it down without being insulting? At least we had fake butter.

All I recall is how disappointing margarine was after dripping on popcorn exploded by a hot air popper. Seemed to soak right in and then shrivel the puffs. After switching, I actually thought air popcorn laced with butter tasted better than the classic stuff cooked in coconut oil (that my brother considered sacrosanct).
But as someone who considers distilled water to be a satisfactory beverage, I'm obviously a notorious gustatory minimalist to begin with. If a bout with COVID-19 had removed my sense of taste last year, I probably wouldn't have noticed.
