Word of the day

What's your word of the day?

(Yes, I copied this from sciforums) Sorry, not sorry. Big Grin

My word of today is ''gadabout.'' It means to flit from one social activity to the next, or move about aimlessly.

In a sentence, ''that fairy can't sit still, she's always flying about. She's such a gadabout!"

Quote:EARTH'S SHIFTING MAGNETIC POLES ARE CONFUSING YOUR PHONE: Pick up your cell phone and look at it. That rectangular marvel of modern technology contains thousands of lines of code. Among them is the World Magnetic Model (WMM)–a program that helps your phone navigate. And it's in a bit of trouble. Researchers have announced that the WMM needs an emergency update because Earth's magnetic field is changing.

kumquat/cumquat

Kumquats are a group of small fruit-bearing trees in the flowering plant family Rutaceae. They were previously classified as forming the now historical genus Fortunella, or placed within Citrus sensu lato.

Who thought up this word to label this interesting fruit? lol Hey, this is delicious, let's call it a..........um........er.....kumquat!

Muggle

Meaning - a person who isn't conversant with a particular activity or skill

Or, if you are a Harry Potter fan - ''someone who isn't magical''

We're all doomed to be muggles, then.  Dodgy
