The relative velocity (w) between the two ships doesn't add as w=v+v
instead it is
w=2v/(1+v²/c²)
so that is the velocity we need to use to show that each ship agrees about the time it takes the other ship to reach C.
Time passes while I try to find a trick to make this look easy.
