9. Perch. Good old perch. Many people count white perch among their favorite fish for its flaky texture and and mild taste.

Problem is, I very much doubt that's the even more mixed-up colloquial usage of "white perch" which refers to white crappie. In some regions "perch" drifts so far off the mark that it collectively refers to green sunfish, bluegill, redear sunfish, etc. (Perch jerking (East Texas) ... Perch jerking (Louisiana))
