This interested me, since I used to live in South City a few blocks from the San Bruno line and I still frequent that general area. (I was about 10 miles south of there today when all this went down.)
The police are calling it a domestic, that the female shooter had wanted to break up with her boyfriend with an emphatic exclamation mark and several other people got in the way and got shot.
But since her name has been revealed, it might have been something else. She seems to have had grudges against YouTube. Apparently they weren't cooperating in her monetizing her YouTube channels as she had hoped. I guess she hoped to get rich being a social media 'star' and it wasn't working out.

Here's one of her websites (it will probably be taken down soon). Her Facebook and Instagram pages are already down.
http://nasimabc.com/index.html
This one seems to have identical content:
http://nasimesabz.com/
All four of her YouTube pages (in English, Farsi and Turkish) have this notice in a red box:
"This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations."
Well, I guess! Bursting into YouTube's headquarters with a gun and shooting the place up would definitely qualify as a Terms of Service violation.
She appears to be an Iranian immigrant, but doesn't look particularly Islamic to me. She reportedly said she was Bahai (who are persecuted by the Muslim majority in Iran). She appears to have been a militant vegan and something of an animal rights activist. She lived in Southern California and might be part of the large Iranian community centered in Los Angeles, many of whom were more secular and Westernized individuals who fled the Islamic revolution when the Shah was overthrown. Most of them have fit into American life very well and are credits to their community. This lady just appears to be crazy.
Here's a very amateurish 'parody' video she made:
