Co-Inky-Dink

Despite the Popeye pronunciation I don't know why coincidences keep happening to me. Perhaps as I get older there are more chances for them to occur. Here's the latest.....

Today I became a grandfather for the first time. This date Feb 23, happens to be the same date when my father died 17 years ago.. My daughter is the new mom and of course my dad was her grandfather.

Whole family found that kind of strange but I guess there was a 1 in 365 chance my first grandchild would be born on Feb 23rd. I didn't want to remind my daughter as this day approached. I didn't want any negative vibes reaching her on the eve of her first child. She had problems conceiving in the past. Few minutes ago I informed her of the coincidence and she was totally surprised and unaware of it, having forgotten when her grandfather passed. One in and one out....the cycle of life.

I recall how they were saying that in momentous times we are more keen to see coincidences.  It seems the brain is receptive to making connections between occurrences.  Becoming a granddad is quite an important thing.  All the best

Thanks. I think during a lifetime, the longer you live increases the chances of experiencing a co-inky-dink, especially with calendar dates.
