By expressing images and pictures the tv is communicating with you. And by watching tv you are communicating with it. Your thoughts can influence the outcome of the program.

Obviously your surname is not Nielsen.

Yes. I was referring to macroscopic Quantum effects.

I'm referring to TV ratings. They influence the programming, not the actual outcome of the program you're viewing. Is that what you're saying?

Whenever the moment arose and Sylvester the Cat popped Tweetybird into his mouth I always rooted for the coup de grace to be delivered but it never happened. I would shut the TV off at that point and at least feel good about not seeing the annoying little pest escape death. I think I influenced the outcome more by turning the TV off.

Even a cartoon can be influenced by your thoughts in the Quantum world (e.g. the episode of Simpsons with God and the Devil). Specifically, the brain is no longer distinct from the external in the Quantum world.

Why stop at the brain? Why not my TV or the universe for that matter. From micro to macro it's all the same stuff. I feel like you're holding back something and waiting for the right moment to foist it upon us.

Do you believe anything is possible? I mean the quantum world seems to have you transfixed in such a way that I have this overwhelming sense that you do think it. Any truth to that?

You've hit the nail on the head. Reality is self-perceptive. And I believe anything is possible outside reality until it collapses to one of those possibilities.

No offence but this opens up the possibility that you're crazy. The question is: is it possible for someone who's crazy to know they're crazy? According to you it does. Yet it is possible that you're sane and don't know it, or both crazy and sane at the same time. Possibilities are endless ...I don't think the italics preceding this sentence was meant for this turn of events.

Pretty amazing when you think about it. Imagine a particle and an anti-particle coming into contact without annihilating each other. It's a head scratcher, that's for sure.

No, it does not mean that I am crazy. Simple belief does not make one crazy. Outside reality is no constraint to physicality.

It's displaying a program. The program's creators (who aren't the tv) may have had some communicative intent.

How? Maybe if it's one of those thoroughly creepy new "smart" tvs that reports what you are watching back to Google or your cable provider so they can target advertising at you. (While having the ability to keep a dossier on you at the same time.)

Quote:Your thoughts can influence the outcome of the program.

The outcome of the program is depicted in scenes that were written in a screen play and acted by actors in front of a camera, probably many months before the show is aired.

How does my watching my tv change the screenplay and scenes that people performed long before I happened to turn on my television?

Just using the magic word "quantum" doesn't make it true.
