I had assumed that the book was already published, but ''write'' is the key word in that quote. You're likely right. Thanks, MR. Her own sites as well as signature in places where she posts seems to have it as "Never let a book sit on the shelf". If it really was a tweak to it that she herself made, then it's difficult to say without context. MR's selection would be my first choice, too, but it could also be metaphor for getting out and generating publicity for a book, especially renewing it for an older one. A reference book could certainly be used again, even if one wrote it, but the quote implies more generality than that. The descending explanations become less and less tenable or trivial. Like re-reading one to refresh memory, if it was published a long time ago. An author's self-infatuation with their own work would probably be at the bottom in terms of what was meant, though hardly the least plausible in real life. “Our senses seem to deceive us into thinking that we live in the material world. Our world is not based on objectively existing particles of matter but it is based on waves of potentiality, that is pure information. Our world is informational. Think of it as an observer-centric virtual reality. Your consciousness is, rather, an optimized meta-algorithmic data stream, a sequence of conscious instants.”

“I am all in a sea of wonders. I doubt; I fear; I think strange things, which I dare not confess to my own soul.”
― Bram Stoker, Dracula “I realized it for the first time in my life: there is nothing but mystery in the world, how it hides behind the fabric of our poor, browbeat days, shining brightly, and we don't even know it.” ― Sue Monk Kidd, The Secret Life of Bees
“I had an unusually large-sized head, though this was not uncommon for a baby in the Midwest. The craniums in our part of the country were designed to leave a little extra room for the brain to grow in case one day we found ourselves exposed to something we didn't understand, like a foreign language, or a salad.”
― Michael Moore, Here Comes Trouble
“Reading dreams. That's what started her walking down the road. Every day she'd walk a little further: a mile, and come home. Two miles, and come home. One day she just kept on.”
― Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Three Stories "We are all a sun-lit moment come from a long darkness; what moves us always comes from what is hidden, what seems to be said so suddenly, has lived in the body for a long, long time." … Excerpt from 'A SEEMING STILLNESS' In ‘David Whyte : Essentials’ Many Rivers Press.
