Thoughts being only signals in the brain does not explain how brains can rewire themselves through conscious choices in studies that prove neural plasticity.

Who said anything about determinism?  We know that thoughts are signals but that doesn’t mean that we can’t change.  Our experiences and perceptions can alter the way in which we perceive.  There’s still hope for you yet.  Wink

"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.  Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun."

Death is not an experience, but life is.  Death is not a mystery, but life is.

There are no Gods before me and no Gods after me.  I am life, and there is none else.

scheherazade Wrote:"Be pious toward all the gods" therefore seems prudent, at least in the company of others. Besides, it allows more occasions for sharing in ceremonial feasting at regular intervals. Wink

There is nothing but life.  It is a feast.  Enjoy your portion.  Smile

I love this line.

Septimus:  "When we have found all the mysteries and lost all of the meaning; we will be alone, on an empty shore."
Thomasina:  "Then we will dance."

Do bad guys have GA's too? I'm sure even the worst amongst us has had a close call or two during a lifetime.

Bad boys are stereotyped as having good luck. But that's not really the protective kind which might be conceived / personified as a guardian angel. In spatial reality, it's anybody's guess as to what the mechanistic or interactive relational causes are of the bad-boy attraction. Like these attempts:

In fabulist doctrine, I suppose a naif would be one of the prime candidates for receiving attention from a guardian angel. There was a celebrated "Forrest Gump" type in the late 18th century who enjoyed an extraordinary amount of good fortune despite the efforts of duplicitous individuals (including his wife) trying to hoodwink him. Unfortunately I can't remember his name. Probability of life circumstances like that eventually arising (among millions of people) for a particular individual would, of course, be responsible there.

In all fairness there should be Guardian Demons. Protect me from the GA's who leave their post to let children die. at least now with the population booming the GA's aren't sitting around heaven on their collective asses.
