Terrorism now has it's own TV news desk

Yes...while comfortably lulled by touching local news stories about lost dogs and the homeless, suddenly the screen flashes in white on red bold type with the sound of drums: "Terrorism Alert Desk"..Urgently I am transported to another TV studio set all adorned in red and an american flag with one person standing behind a long empty desk. Nothing pressing is ever said here, just updates on the war on ISIS. I'm assuming this desk will be cluttered some day with 3 or 4 anchors with papers and background ticker tapes and HD TV screens reporting on the latest atrocity committed here on our post 9-11 U.S. soil. For now though it looks all too "terrorizing" to me, keeping us ever in a state of hypervigilance about our safety and our country. Terrorism alert desk. Did we really need a separate studio set for this?

Terrorist events (as well as pogrom-like activity) go under-reported or receive less prolonged and in-depth attention for some of the top 20 countries (barring the extended local and regional coverage, of course, in contrast to international news focus). Such as number one ranked Iraq, where the incidents have become routine for years.

The UK was listed at 28th on the Global Terrorism Index for 2015, with the US at 35 and France at 36; Australia at 59th. Both China and Russia were higher at 22 and 23 respectively.
