VIDEO INTRO: Today we have a couple of things to talk about. We have a Spanish enclave, which was overrun by about 60,000 migrants. Apparently, this was all instigated by somebody putting fake news on social media about migrants, letting them believe that Spain is going to open the borders.
So, 60,000 migrants just ran over this small enclave, which is actually in Africa. So, apparently Spain has two enclaves in Africa. [...] So the rumor is that maybe this is an attempt to get this enclave back. Now is this rumor really true? I have to say I don't know.
But I can let you know the reactions of some politicians here in Austria and also in Europe. Who were criticizing Spain for basically doing almost nothing against the wave of migrants.
So for example, Austrian politicians are reacting. They are saying Spain is giving away free entry tickets to the European Union. Also, the Austrian chancellor is reacting and saying the decision by the Social Democratic Spanish government to grant residency permits to thousands of illegal migrants has proven to be an additional incentive for illegal migration.
The Spanish government's decision to legalize illegal migrants is all the more surprising. It's a complete mystery how the Spanish Supreme Court can reach the conclusion that swimming is not illegal migration. How are we supposed to defend ourselves against migration flows when courts repeatedly tie the hands of European states?
Spain Supreme Court ruled mid June that migrants intercepted at sea in the enclaves of Ceuta or Melilla cannot be immediately sent back.
Also, how are the politicians reacting in Germany? The left party is saying Germany must take in Ceuta migrants. Spain cannot be left to cope with this alone. Germany and the European Union have a duty to help with providing for them and to take in those seeking protections.
Also here there's an article controlled by Morocco. This is how Europe is reacting to the mass influx into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The images from Ceuta are causing concern in the EU. Furthermore, there are indications that the influx may be politically motivated.
Now, because of this migrant wave, Italy is introducing targeted checks at its sea and air borders with Spain. The government under Georgia Meloni justifies the suspension of the Schengen Agreement with Spain with security concerns.
Also the next topic is that we have a heat wave in Europe which is lasting for a long time and which has turned now into a severe drought. So a lot of fields are very dry and farmers are fearing for their existence. Now here a farmer is saying that on some fields they have 100% failure of maze crops. So you can see maze plants which are very thin. They only have grown like 50 cm. He's saying, "We already had to slaughter animals because we cannot feed them anymore."
Since it never rained extensively in June and July, this year's harvest looks meager. Many colleagues have already had to reduce their livestock because there's not enough feed. This farmer has 150 milk cows and um he's already sent a few animals to the slaughterhouse. The groundwater level was already too low during the winter and the corn cops aren't growing properly. The crop failures are pushing many to the brink of ruin. Whether it's heat or flooding, we are hanging by a thread.
Also, here we have a very nice lake in Austria. It's a very cold lake in the mountains with a lot of water inside coming from the mountains. It's very blue and beautiful. And now this lake is running out of water and ships cannot dock anymore. So this is how even in the mountains uh the environment is suffering from the drought.
Also here in this article they are saying that the brutal heat wave will have effects on the high prices in supermarkets...
