My tirzepatide is kicking in! Felt totally full yesterday and only ate a bowl of apple-cinnamon oatmeal. I'm so pleased!

Hopefully that's finally sufficient. Although if you already got down to only one meal a day and there was still weight increase or weight stasis, you have to wonder what portal the GI tract was utilizing to wormhole in those extra calories. GIP drug to promisingly track down the offending topological feature in spacetime and close down that smuggling operation.

I surprised myself a few days ago. I didn't realize that I could do one-arm pull-ups/chin-ups. Been a long time since I had tried. I had recently watched a video on building effective strength rather than mass, and it said to do max load exercises. So one-arm was the only way to increase the load without weights to hang from a belt.

It's always great when you can surprise yourself with your own capabilities.

That's so funny! When I accidentally drank too many protein shakes a few months ago I was on the toilet all day long! It was unbelievable to me that so much poo juice could come out of me, who had quit drinking or eating anything. I actually considered maybe some sort of portal had opened up in my stomach!

My dosages on tirzepatide go from 5 mg the first month, to 7 mg the second month, to 10 mg the third month. The half life on it is like 5 days, which is quite long. So the build up has begun!

I could never do hardly a single pull-up as a kid. I noticed other kids doing them endlessly. It has something to do with your body type I guess.

Just start out with one to five push-ups, and merely add one more each day till whatever quantity is reached. We don't have to strain ourselves to the failure point to increase the number, like the fitness demonstrator below illustrates. It's actually dangerous to do that once out of shape in late age. Might have an aneurysm on the aorta or in the brain that could burst.

And no problem doing them on the knees due to a hiatal hernia or whatever sliding around of the guts when staying off the floor. Push-ups are still effective resting on the knees.

There's a gradient to any exercise, and should definitely be used to avoid injury. Even if you can't do a single pull-up or push-up, you can do the opposite. Using a chair, you can use your legs to lift yourself into a pull-up and then use your arms to lower yourself slowly. Same with push-ups, just lowering yourself until you can push up. Some people will use stretch bands to assist in pull-ups, push-ups from the knees, etc..

When I started squats, my goal was to shore up my knees (muscle works wonders to support joints), which would pop a lot. Nowadays, they only pop if I do a single-leg squat... even after I quit taking glucosamine (might have to start again, if I keep up the single-leg regime).

I've never really been one for pushing to the point of failure. The more fatigued your muscles, the more likely you are to injure yourself with improper form. For years, I've just very slowly increased my reps. And now I'm moving toward max load, but still not enough reps to reach failure.
