My new weight loss journey - Magical Realist - Jul 17, 2026
I was so depressed. Over the past month I have been steadily gaining more weight. I walk in the park every day and eat only one meal a day. Still, I'm up to 238. It makes no sense. I hate how I look and won't stand for it. So I ordered me some of those GPL1 pills on a 6 month subscription plan. Expensive yes but I have nothing else I want so much as to get down to around 200 again and I can definitely afford it. There is nothing better for your body overall than losing weight. Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke risk, depression, lethargy. All of those go down. So wish me luck. I am so elated now that I have a way out of this.
EDIT: Just got my 90 day supply of Tirzepatide pills and took one. You basically let it sit in your cheek till it dissolves, which it did in minutes. We'll see how it goes!

Finally, some real incremental input about Ozempic (etc) rather than just relying on suddenly ultra-skinny celebrities being contrasted to their old snapshots.

The loop in Laurelhurst Park. Exactly one mile at a fast pace with two "out of breath" inclines.

I was initially worried they were gonna rip me off since they didn't identify the shipper to track my pkg with. It cost me $1600.00 upfront for the 6 mo plan. But it came in two days. The FDA hasn't approved the pill form of Tirzepadide so I'm taking a risk with the compounded version of it. Online reviews sound encouraging though. Dual action of appetite suppressant and slowing the digestion.

A bit of queasiness on my day 2 after taking a pill. Drank a protein shake afterwards so it may have to do with that. This however is manageable and even makes me not want to eat. They say your body will adjust to it. So I remain undaunted!

Needless to say, be alert for any side effects (like more added stress on the kidneys) and negative interactions with other prescription drugs. This class of chemicals apparently affects the brain sometimes, causing symptoms of anhedonia in some people.

I read that study you posted on anhedonia and it said it was only on high doses of tirzepatide. I think I'm on a low dose. Plus I'm still on Effexor and olanzipine, which help to stabilize my mood. Tks!

Effexor (venlafaxine) and olanzapine are frequently co-prescribed to treat conditions like treatment-resistant depression and psychotic major depression. While the combination is generally well-tolerated, they share overlapping side effects. Taking both can increase the risk of extreme drowsiness, dizziness, orthostatic hypotension (a drop in blood pressure when standing), and significant metabolic changes like weight gain.

Yep..that's been a struggle with my olanzipine from the beginning. Which is why I'm down to just 2.5 mg which is a tiny sliver of it. It's the minimum dose that helps me sleep at night and appears to stave off depression. Studies show that tirzapetide has been observed to reverse the weight gain effects of olanzipine though.
