But in terms of Marine Le Pen becoming the next French president, just look at what the EU have been doing here. They are preparing to ram through their budget before the French presidential elections, April 2027, fearing that Le Pen will win, and she will oppose this proposed 2 trillion euro budget. And you can see clearly the intention here to ram this through, to fast track this all through before Marine Le Pen can come in potentially as the next French president and block it.
And with the UK cash cow out the door, it clearly ramps up pressure on the likes of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who isn't exactly popular in Germany right now. But also even Macron and his allies realize what a terrible look this would be if France had to greatly increase its contributions to the EU budget.

They are very, very consistent. They show that in the first round of the French presidential election, Le Pen is absolutely miles ahead of any other candidate...
