Widdecombe's murder was targeted attack
https://www.reuters.com/world/uk-police-...026-07-14/

INTRO: British counter-terrorism police said on Tuesday that former ‌government minister Ann Widdecombe, who was found murdered at her home last week, was clearly targeted, adding that officers were still working to establish the motive. "It is clear that this was a targeted attack. We are still working to understand the extent of any planning or preparation and the motivation that sits behind that attack," Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, head of Britain's counter terrorism policing, told reporters.

VIDEO INTRO: What we have seen over the past couple of days is the true left and the true hate-filled left who as we saw with Charlie Kirk in the US. I mean this is not something new. They hate patriots so much they will celebrate when we die. This is what we're dealing with and we've got to wake up to it.

Rail Braverman pointing out, "Never forget today is the day the nasty left celebrated the murder of an elderly woman." And I just want to show you Blue Sky.

So, so you know, Slippery Starmer and all of his mob think Blue Sky, this new platform is so lovely. You know, we're not going to ban it for children [like we have the others]. Look at that. Screeds of the most revolting negative hatred towards a woman who has just been murdered, as we now know, assassinated in a likely terror attack.

But I think one of the moments that upset people so much was seeing Adam Bolton, who is a truly reprehensible and repulsive man...

Not good that the Anglo-American version of Red Faction Army might be gradually getting over their acquired antipathy toward guns. That's probably the only thing obstructing a return to the old ways of the 1970s.

Man arrested over Nigel Farage threat after Widdecombe killing
https://www.indiatoday.in/world/story/ni...2026-07-15

INTRO: A man who allegedly threatened on social media in May to shoot Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been arrested, London police said on Wednesday, as concerns grow over the security of politicians after the killing of former MP Ann Widdecombe.

The Metropolitan Police said the man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of sending threatening communications to a member of Parliament. The arrest comes after Widdecombe, a member of the anti-immigration Reform UK, was killed on July 8, prompting the party to seek better protection for its members.

According to the Telegraph newspaper, the suspect allegedly told Farage on X: "I am going to shoot you in the head if you win." Police said the suspect was held overnight and later released on bail...

Dans output appears complete twaddle. I guess as a sellout, he's pushing for advertising on a US platform and therefore wants to paint things for an American audience. (E.g. bringing up Charlie Kirk, Identifying the Left as the people responsible etc.)

no point speculating who or why it was done. Leave that for the investigation to uncover.

You seemed fine with theorizing on motive, when it cut the other way politically:

It's clear you have a double standard, that is much more strict for Republicans than it is for Democrats.
Which means you have zero credibility on this issue.

Syne, Just to clarify what did Kimmel *actually* say?

Paraphrasing I'm pretty sure he just suggested that some people were attempting to make connections before facts were even known and stirring up the hornets nest. Such as the "Trans" connection. If you look at the Kirk thread you'll notice that "Trans" was mentioned way before any information on it being linked, so Kimmel wasn't technically wrong. It's just he attributed it to MAGA initially, or conveyed that it was MAGA, the reality is that it's just people on the internet making postulations with limited intelligence (as in evidence.)

It should also be noted that there might be a slight shift in the rhetoric you are use to from those that you support because they might be acknowledging that polarising has been part of the problem. So likely more prudent than candor and doesn't necessarily mean censoring.

The Aberdeen University worker has been arrested. The only good thing about this is that it demonstrates the Scottish thought police can be balanced with regard to who they target (if the recipient of the insensitivity is a big name or celebrity, anyway).

Trans ex-Labour candidate is charged over post hoping Ann Widdecombe had a 'painful death'
https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-1...death.html

EXCERPT: Ms Herbert, 50, has since been arrested and charged, and a report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. A Police Scotland spokesman said: 'We received reports on Saturday, July 11, 2026, relating to a post made online.

'Following further assessment, a 50-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection.' Her employer, Aberdeen University, where Ms Herbert works as a web developer, has also launched an investigation into the comments.

Transgender former Labour candidate Heather Herbert, 50, has been charged over online posts about former Tory MP Ann Widdecombe, who was found dead last Thursday

Specialist officers from Counter Terrorism Policing are continuing the investigation into the death of Ms Widdecombe Aberdeen University Principal and Vice Chancellor, Professor Peter Edwards, said earlier this week the university has a zero-tolerance approach to 'violence or hateful behaviour', and gave his assurance the comments were being investigated 'as a priority'.

The Scottish Greens have additionally launched a probe into the comments. Ms Herbert joined the Scottish Greens in late 2021 after previously being a member of Scottish Labour...

Even after the uncle speaks out, there's still no hint of a name offered as to who this guy is. If they're white, the UK press will at least reveal that right off the bat (as they did here). If they're politically non-left, they'll tell you that immediately, too. And maybe the name, also, if both those slots are checked. Otherwise everything else drags out indefinitely unless some rogue reporter or source pries a board of the secret treasure box. Still apparently, only the Daily Mail has disclosed specifically that some of the suspect's material was Marxist -- the rest (news outlets) have kept mum about that.

Uncle of Ann Widdecombe suspect says he 'nearly fell to floor' over arrest
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn4n9023322o

INTRO: The uncle of a man held on suspicion of the murder of Ann Widdecombe has told the BBC how he "nearly fell to the floor" when he heard his nephew had been arrested. "My legs went like jelly," he said. "He's the last person I would think would do anything like that."

He lives near his nephew, although he has not seen him properly for about 10 years. He remembers him as a "quiet and unassuming boy" who was "gentle and polite" and "everything that a shy, young boy would be".

Former MP Widdecombe, 78, is believed to have been attacked at her home in Haytor, Devon on 8 July. Her body was discovered a day later, and she had sustained serious injuries, police said. A white British man, 28, arrested on Saturday in South Yorkshire, is being held on suspicion of murder and on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Counter terrorism police said on Tuesday they believe she was killed in a "targeted attack", but they are still working to understand the motive. Speaking to the BBC in Rotherham, the man, who we are not naming, said his nephew had been living with his father until his death a few months ago...

28-year-old Joshua Kerry of Rotherham in South Yorkshire was a former lift company worker. He hit Widdecombe 21 times with a hammer while she ate lunch. He allegedly tipped the Reform UK spokeswoman from her chair and took a wallet from her handbag before driving off, spending roughly two minutes in her home.

Kerry entered court wearing a grey tracksuit. His hair was shorter than in photos previously published of him. More than 800 lines of inquiry were introduced.

Kerry has been described by local residents and neighbours as a “recluse” who rarely left the house and had been caring for his father in the months before the alleged attack. The father, who was an amputee having lost a limb to diabetes, died shortly before Christmas 2025.

One woman, who asked not to be named, recalled how he went by the nickname “Jesus”, which she believed related to his appearance. It is believed Kerry had barely left the house for a number of months, to the extent some neighbours thought the property was vacant.

Counter-terror police have refused to be drawn on which kind of ideology may be involved in the case. The Daily Mail reported that Marxist literature and other propaganda was found in his quarters.
